Its appearance looks similar to a kingfisher with a rocket for its feet. It has blue wings and a yellow rocket. It appears in [[Sylvania Castle]]. In the zone it is seen to hover in mid-air over water. When[[Sonic| Sonic]] and [[Tails]] pass underneath it, the badnik will launch itself downward in a powerful dive. This is probably in reference to its kingfisher appearance, for the bird species is known for diving and plucking fish.

A newly developed Kingfisher inspired robot. It usually flies over the water surface, but as it finds Sonic and Tails underwater, it will dart down at them.

Zoomer[1] (シューン[2] Shūn?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, kingfisher bird-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman that roams Sylvania Castle Zone.

Appearance

Zoomer badniks are based off Kingfisher birds, but have a similar appearance to that of Hummingbirds. Zoomers are mostly aqua blue with yellow torsos. They also have rocket-like objects on the bottom of their bodies.

Overview

In Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode II, Zoomers are only found in Sylvania Castle Zone. In gameplay, they fly in stationary positions above the local water surfaces. When the playable characters are coming towards this Badnik however, it will launch itself downward into a mighty dive until it hits the ground.

The player can perform both Spin Jump or Spin Attack to defeat a Zoomer, although running past them fast makes them relatively harmless.

Trivia

  • The attack pattern of a Zoomer is a reference to the Kingfisher's technique of capturing prey.
