The Zip Target is a gimmick that appears in the Sonic Boom series. They are floating handles the player can latch onto with the Enerbeam.
Description[]
The Zip Targets are golden metal cones pointing downward, with a cyan orb occupying the lower half. The cones have sockets for their orbs and a cyan outline on top. The Zip Targets are always floating above the playable characters.
Overview[]
In Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, the Zip Targets usually float in midair or hang from the ceiling. In gameplay, they are used to reach new areas with the Enerbeam. Using the Enerbeam on a Zip Target makes the player latch onto it, with the playable character dangling from the Enerbeam. The player can then swing over to another area. Sometimes, there are rows of Zip Targets which the player can latch onto one by one to cross wide gaps. Some Zip Targets also have to be moved into position by completing puzzles.
To latch onto a Zip Target in gameplay, the player has to press when near one. To swing on a Zip Target, the player has to use the left analog stick.
