Yuji Uekawa (上川祐司 Uekawa Yuji) is an artist at Sega and a member of Sonic Team. The first Sonic game he worked on was Sonic R as the character designer.
He is well known for his redesigns of Sonic and other returning characters for the series since Sonic Adventure, as well as creating the 2D character artwork used for the Sonic games in the early 2000's and wallpapers on Sonic Channel. He also designed many of the original characters in Sonic X and the games since Sonic R.
