The Worm Shooter[1] (ワームシューター[2],Wāmu Shūtā?) is an object that appears in Shadow the Hedgehog. It is a lock-on type weapon usable by both enemies and the player.
The Worm Shooter is dark blue weapon that somewhat resembles the tail tip of a scorpion. It has a magenta-colored substance on either side of its frame, which bends slightly inward. It also has what appears to be a grey worm on each side.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Worm Shooter can only be found in certain Stages. They can be wielded by Sand Worms and Black Volts (although the latter's cannot be picked up), who will use them against the player. When fired, the Worm Shooter's shots can home in on the player over a certain range.
Worm Shooters can be dropped by defeated enemies that wield them or released from breakable Containers. Touching one will make the playable character pick it up automatically. As a lock-on type weapon, the Worm Shooter can unleash a homing attack on enemies. The player must hold // (whether on the ground or in mid-air) and use the control stick to target and lock onto enemies, then release to fire. By comparison, this weapon's shots have a long range and high damage output. However, it can only lock onto two targets at a time. A Worm Shooter can fire a total of six shots, and once those run out, it becomes useless. However, it can be reloaded with another six shots by picking up another Worm Shooter.
