The Wings of Light[1] is a move used by Solaris in Sonic the Hedgehog (2006). With this technique, Solaris protects himself with a force-field.

Description

When using the Wings of Light, Solaris puts up a force-field of light surrounding his vulnerable core. This field is virtually impenetrable, withstanding even attacks from Super State users without a scratch. While invisible, blue ripple-patterns will appear on the field whenever an attack impacts it.

In gameplay, Solaris will use the Wings of Light in the second part of the battle whenever he detects an attack,[1] preventing the player from damaging him. At the same time, however, Solaris cannot attack while using the Wings of Light, so he must disengage it when attacking the player. It is at this point that the player must strike Solaris.

After Solaris's consciousness was destroyed at the end of the battle, the Wings of Light collapsed.
