Sonic and Tails on the Winged Victory, from Sonic the Hedgehog #57.

The Winged Victory is a vehicle that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was Sonic's personal biplane, and was the predecessor to the Tornado before Kodos stole it. (StH: #70).

History

The Winged Victory first appeared when Sonic and Tails visited the Floating Island while chasing Robotnik. Knuckles shot the plane down with a rocket, but Sonic and Tails safely made it to the surface of the Island. Knuckles picked up the pieces to it while he had the duo tied up. After Robotnik escaped the island, Knuckles showed Sonic and Tails the pieces to the plane and Sonic quickly put them back together. Sonic and Tails then returned to Knothole on their plane.[1]

Sonic and Tails used the Winged Victory to chase after Naugus, flying from Mobotropolis to Mercia to Stormtop Village to Downunda to Sand Blast City to the Southern Tundra until they finally tracked down and defeated Ixis Naugus, and then flew to the Great Rainforest and back home. Sonic later flew it to Big Kahuna Island to assist Geoffrey St. John's team of the Royal Secret Service to rescue Nate Morgan. After the success of this mission however, the Winged Victory was stolen by Kodos and Uma Arachnis, who successfully fled the scene with it and Crocbot's remains. (#57#58#61#62, #63#64#66#67#70)
