The Warp Zone is a subject that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. It is a form of warps in space found in both the Land of the Sky and the Land of Darkness of Planet Freedom.
Description[]
Warp Zones resemble vortexes of energy, with the interior flashing in many colors, while the entrances and exits glow with cyan energy. When entering a Warp Zone, it allow a person or object to travel quickly from one location to another, across space.

Welcome to Robotropolis[]
The Navigator given by Dr. Robotnik to Tails to locate Robotropolis took Tails and Sonic through a Warp Zone from one of the Land of Darkness' grass fields into the Ancient Relics near the city.
Sonic Vs. Metal Sonic!![]

While not explicitly identified as a Warp Zone, after the destruction of the Robot Generator, the destroyed chassis of Metal Robotnik rose from a cyan glow similar to that produced by Warp Zone entrances, accompanied by the appearance of flame-like wisps of energy similar to onibi. However, these effects were created by Dr. Robotnik as part of his plan to convince Sonic and Tails that Metal Robotnik was still alive.
Tails and Knuckles the Echidna eventually used a Warp Zone to return to Sonic and Tails's home in pursuit of Hyper Metal Sonic. Robotnik and Sara also later arrived at the North Pole in the Egg Mobile using a Warp Zone.
