The War Machine[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a mass-produced drone steamroller created and controlled by Dr. Robotnik to destroy the surface of Mobius.
History[]
Doctor Robotnik activated his War Machines after he captured the Knothole Freedom Fighters and put their minds in virtual reality. He set them to destroy any resistance to him, and to destroy the old world so he could make his perfect society. After Sonic realized he was in virtual reality however, he summoned a terminal to see what Robotnik was doing and saw the War Machines destroying Mobius. Since he had access to Robotnik's terminal, he took control of the War Machines and sent them on a route to Robotropolis. Soon after, Robotnik released the Freedom Fighters before the War Machines destroyed Robotropolis. Sonic then made the War Machines destroy each other before he and the Freedom Fighters escaped.[1]
