The Wall of Cards is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Trap Item used primarily to obstruct opposing rivals' path.
Description[]
The Wall of Cards' icon takes form of three cards (one is a hero card in the middle and two are dark cards) stack up with shining yellow aura and 4 sprinkles surround. In gameplay, the Wall of Cards will became randomly cards standing the track.
Overview[]
In gameplay, the Wall of Cards can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Fortune Teller Amy. As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Wall of Cards if they use the Steal Item to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Wall of Cards by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Wall of Cards will spawn cards some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on, the other lane where the user currently on it will spawn the same card's size with transparent pink form. If a character collides with any of the cards, including the user themselves, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, there are two different kind of cards with different ability spawned at randomly:
Hero Card (appearance as regular Fortune Cards): If the player succeeds in hitting an opponent with this attack, they will gain Rings.
Dark Card (appearance as the Virtuous Heart): Similar to Steal, the rival character who hit by the dark card will have their Projectile or Trap items they currently have stolen. The affected rival will have pink smoke covering up the stolen Item on the HUD in question before being removed. Upon receiving the stolen Item, Fortune Teller Amy can use the stolen Item as if it were her own. However, the Lucky Draw cannot affect to all boost, clone attack, Steal, and items which belong to Fortune Teller Amy.
The Wall of Cards can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the damage inflicted by the Wall of Cards will be increased.
