History
Sonic the Hedgehog CD
In Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Dr. Robotnik used the Wacky Workbench boss in an attempt to destroy Sonic the Hedgehog in the Wacky Workbench. However, it was destroyed by his nemesis.
Battle
The Wacky Workbench boss is the boss of the Wacky Workbench in Sonic the Hedgehog CD, and the fifth boss overall. While in the original version it is only faced by Sonic, the 2011 re-release makes it possible to face it with Tails.
Boss guide
Once Sonic finds Dr. Robotnik in his vehicle, the only option is to attack by hitting the vehicle. The doctor will become angry and will fly into the ceiling, causing blocks to fall onto the floor. The player must jump on top of one while Robotnik electrocutes the floor, without harming the pieces of the ceiling. The blocks fly into the air and the player must reach the next floor level. This process repeats a few times as the amount of floor decreases and eventually spikes fall, until they reach the final roof and can defeat the scientist. Robotnik will then run away from the scene while the rocket finishes exploding.

Trivia
- When facing this boss as Tails in the 2011 re-release of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Tails' maximum flight time is severely reduced for the duration of the fight, to prevent the player from simply flying up and hitting the boss immediately without using the blocks.
