Sonic secretly watches Speed through the window, from Sonic the Hedgehog.

Ten years after his travel to Earth, Sonic became heavily attached to the Wachowski family, unintentionally spying on Tom and Maddie from their home, although they were unaware of Sonic's existence at the time.

Around this time, Tom returned home from work, surprised by the letter Maddie was holding. Opening it, Tom learned he was selected to join the San Francisco Police Department, hoping that said department doesn't find out about him using the neighbor's Wi-Fi.

Following an electrical outburst created by Sonic, Tom and Maddie's home, encounters a power outage along with the rest of Green Hills. From his home, Tom was called by Wade Whipple, who asked for advice on what to do. After Wade had forgotten what Tom told him, Tom inspects a glowing blue quill which he had gotten from the side of the road.

Sonic caged up in Tom's home, from Sonic the Hedgehog (film).

When Tom suspected raccoons in his trash cans once again, he storms into his garage to attempt to tranquilize them. He instead found Sonic, who was about to travel to another planet. In striking fear, Tom shoots a dart on Sonic's leg, eventually causing him to lose his rings.

Tom, utterly confused, brings him inside the house, locked inside a cage. After Sonic and Tom lightly argue about what is happening, a truck stops by at the residence, unveiling Ivo Robotnik investigating the area. Tom hides Sonic in his attic, talking to Robotnik outside afterwards. As Robotnik's drones start to navigate the building for anomalies, Sonic flees in fear, rolling under a table and making a noise which Robotnik hears. He rushes inside only to discover a raccoon eating one of Tom's cakes prepared by Maddie. Robotnik finds the very same quill Tom found however, and gives Tom to the count of five to tell Sonic's whereabouts. As he progresses his counting, Sonic attempts to halt it, resulting in Tom punching Robotnik. The drone fires around the house, wrecking everything it aims at. Sonic then jumps onto that drone, crashing it onto the ground. The two escape from Robotnik's forces, driving on the highway to San Francisco.

After the final battle, the Wachowskis fix and renew their house due to what happened days before. Commander Walters knocks on the front door of Tom and Maddie's home, granting the two an Olive Garden gift card as a thanks of saving the world. Walters then asks if they had any other contacts with the "blue alien creature", to which the Wachowskis neglect. They then close the door as Sonic emerges from the back of a couch. Requesting to watch a film, Maddie tells him to go back to his cave, due to it being a school night (though it's unknown if it means that Sonic is in school). Sonic unhappily walks out the front door, but is stopped when Tom brings him back to the attic. The Wachowski's have turned it into a new exclusive room for Sonic, giving him his spot in the Wachowski family.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2[]

Robotnik and Knuckles invade the Wachowski household, from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (film).

Following a conversation between Sonic and Tom about his heroic duties he commits by sneaking out of the house, Sonic helps Tom and Maddie get to Rachel's wedding. As soon as they leave, Sonic is alone and starts having fun within the house with Ozzy.

That evening, Robotnik suddenly returns to confront Sonic, introducing his new acquaintance Knuckles, who punches him toward the living room and the lawn afterward. Sonic charges up his Chaos Energy while Knuckles criticizes him. He stops Sonic's attack so he can demand information on the Master Emerald. However, Sonic is saved by Tails, a fan of his who drives into the lawn and hits Knuckles with a car. Robotnik would then take a lawn mower to follow Sonic and Tails.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3[]

After Team Sonic narrowly escaped from being destroyed by a black hole after Robotnik's betrayal, they used a ring portal to get back to the Wachowski residence. As Tom and Maddie were relaxing, they were suddenly met by Team Sonic tied up on a pole. After Sonic and Tails explained the situation to Tom and Maddie, they immediately accepted their plan to infiltrate G.U.N headquarters to stop the Robotniks.

Knuckles[]

TW 31

Knuckles rests after defeating some construction workers, from "The Warrior".

Because of Knuckles' attack on the house, Maddie has been calling construction workers to fix the giant hole in the house. While Knuckles was working out in the forest, completing an obstacle course he made, Knuckles spotted masked men entering said house's backyard. Assuming the house was under attack, Knuckles sprinted towards them, "defeating" them using his abilities, unaware they're a construction crew. With Maddie irritated by Knuckles' recklessness, Sonic decided to have a talk with Knuckles once he saw himself in him.

TW 107

Knuckles turns the house into a gladiator arena, from "The Warrior".

Advised to take a break from his warrior-like lifestyle and resist the urge to go on quests now that there is no looming threat like Robotnik, Knuckles took Sonic's words to heart and decided to "make himself at home" by building an iron throne and turned the living room into a gladiator pit by the next morning. Because of this, Knuckles was grounded, and lied down on the attic's floor defeated. Later, Sonic tried to convince him there are many fun things to do while grounded and left him to his own devices. Regardless, Knuckles called for help from the fallen Echidna Elders, and was met by Great Chief Pachacamac, who told Knuckles his heroic quest had only just begun. He was tasked to find an apprentice and to teach him the ways of an Echidna warrior to continue the legacy of the Echidna. Pachacamac chose Wade Whipple as the apprentice, despite Knuckles' disbelief in him ever becoming a warrior. He was reassured, as his soldierly passion was said to lie within his heart.
