Spark up this speed boost and leave your rivals in your charge.

— Description, Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

Description[]

The Volt Bolt's icon takes the form of a sphere of blue lightning surrounded by white thunderbolts. In gameplay, this power-up becomes a blue aura of electricity that surrounds the user and leaves a ribbon-like trail of blue behind the player- similar to that of the Bunny Boost.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Volt Bolt can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Surge.

Once obtained, the player can utilize the Volt Bolt by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Volt Bolt will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Volt Bolt is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Volt Bolt is in effect. If rival character contact with the user is using Volt Bolt and its trail, will take damage that lose Rings and stop moving for a moment, also lose one of the randomly item on the bottom of the HUD.

The Volt Bolt can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Volt Bolt's duration will increase.

Trivia[]

  • The Volt Bolt's icon is very similar to that of the EMP Boost, both contain a blue bolt surrounded in lighting. The only differences are that the Volt Bolt's highlights are white, the lightning bolts are wider and the trail is a different shape.
  • The Volt Bolt shares sound effects with the Meteor Charge and the Psychic Surge.
