The Void Wispon[1] (ボイドウィスポン[2],Boido Wisupon?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Wispon that is themed after the Violet Wisp. The Void Wispon can be used by Avatar, allowing the character to generate a black hole that swallows up Badniks and items, as well as zip to the nearest wall in a given direction.
Modeled after the Violet Wisp, the Void Wispon is a violet-colored Wispon. Its front consists of a sphere-like section with a serrated black mouth up front and several long purple fins on the edges of its "face" that stretch behind it. The front itself is attached to a barrel with two white rings around it. This barrel has a violet handle on the back that allows the wielder to hold it in a comfortable grip.
Features and abilities[]
As its name implies, the Void Wispon can use the power of the Violet Wisp and essentially allow the Avatar to use the power of the Violet VoidColor Power without transforming into the Color Power. The basic function of the Void Wispon is to fire out a small black hole that pulls in Badniks, Rings, and Wisp Capsules. All Rings and Wisp Capsules pulled in are then given to the wielder.
Like when using an actual Color Power though, the Void Wispon is activated by the Violet Wisps' cooperation, meaning it cannot be used by users that the Violet Wisps do not like.[3]
Overview[]
The basic Void Wispon is unlocked by defeating the Death Egg Robot, the final boss in the game. By advancing through the game, the player can unlock different variants of the Void Wispon. These variants all have the same basic functions, but offer additional skills to the player when equipped.
In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing, when a Badnik force attacked a town, the local militia and several of the residents armed themselves with Void Wispons and other Wispons which they used to fight off the invading robots. After listening to the commands of Amy Rose, the armed citizens fell back to the Town Hall, where they, on Amy's mark, successfully destroyed a wave of Badniks with the Void Wispons and other Wispons.[4]
Trivia[]
Unlike all other Wispons, the Void Wispon is completely useless against bosses as they will take no damage and will not be sucked into the black hole.
