Vision Scramble

The Vision Scramble , formerly known as the Illusion Mine , is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Vision Scramble's icon takes form like cyan portal surrounded by cyan light balls with trail. In gameplay, this power-up becomes the portals land on the track.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Vision Scramble can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Vision Scramble if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Vision Scramble by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Vision Scramble will drop its portal traps some distance ahead of the user's current location on all the lanes that the user is not currently on. If a character, including the user themselves, touches one of these traps, they will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. In addition, the player's vision will be blinded by cyan tornado surround. To avoid the Vision Scramble, the playable character must either jump over its traps or run in-between them.
The Vision Scramble can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 4, 10 and 16 respectively. For each upgrade, the player will increase the damage dealt with the Vision Scramble.
Trivia [ ] The Vision Scramble is a reference to the Illusionary Energy offensive move of the same name: Vision Scramble, from Sonic Rivals 2
