You know... I'm willing to bet my Vertigo-Inducers would break Wendy's hold over the Witchcarters, given their present condition. Let's see what happens, Mmmm?

— Lord Hood, Sonic Universe #85

Vertigo-Inducers are a device that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are the trademark cybernetics used by Lord Mordred Hood to influence the mind.

Description[]

The Vertigo-Inducers, when used on a victim, cause the victim(s) to experience the condition known as vertigo, which is when a person feels as if the world is moving when in actuality it is not. The Vertigo-Inducers can also be used to free the victim from a troll's mind control, as seen when Lord Mordred Hood broke the Witchcarters out of Wendy Naugus's control.

History[]

Shattered World Crisis[]

Act Two[]

While working with Conquering Storm during the reclamation of Eggmanland, Lord Hood was tasked on subduing the Witchcarters. Hood theorized that his Vertigo-Inducers could snap the Witchcarters out of Wendy Naugus's control.[1] Once he and Conquering Storm subdued the Witchcarters, Hood had used his Vertigo-Inducers on the three pranksters, restoring their free will. Unfortunately, this would not last long, as Wendy would soon re-control the Witchcarters.[2] During the final showdown, Lord Hood kept inducing the Witchcarters until Dr. Eggman ordered the cobra to cease after Wendy was promoted to Egg Boss.[3]

Trivia[]

  • Lord Hood having the Vertigo-Inducers is a nod to the stereotype that cobras can hypnotize victims with the circles on its hood.
