Vera (ベラ Bera?) is a character in the Sonic the Hedgehog serialized manga published by Shogakukan. She is the mother of Anton Veruca.
Appearance[]
Vera is a large and gruesome-looking anthropomorphic lizard. She has quite the hefty build, and possesses purple skin and brown hair. She wears a small hat with a large red feather on it, and is dressed in a black leotard with straps and fishnets stockings. She wears blue gloves on her hands, and black high-heeled shoes on her feet.
Like many characters in the manga, Vera's appearance differs in stories drawn by Sango Morimoto. In these stories, she possesses both long and messy blonde hair and pale white skin with purple spots. She wears a pink dress, a pearl necklace, and golden bracelets on her wrists.

Personality[]
Vera is said to be the scariest member of the Veruca family. She is extremely aggressive and domineering, and is able to easily make even Anton afraid of her. She insists that Anton refer to her as "Mama", and is shown to get angry at him when he is shown up by Sonic, reprimanding him for "bringing shame to the Veruca family name".
