Charmy Bee[]

Charmy imitating Vector's behavior, from Sonic Heroes.
The youngest member of Team Chaotix, Charmy, often gets on Vector’s nerves. He even jumps at every chance to tease Vector, like calling him dumb during the Wisp incident for giving Sonic a lead to nowhere when it actually came from Charmy himself. Thanks to his short temper, Vector almost always rises to Charmy's provocations, and they are seen bickering most of the time, with Vector shouting at Charmy. Alternatively, Vector sometimes simply deals with Charmy by putting his hand over the bee’s face, especially when the Chaotix are in a hurry. They also start quarrelling over the smallest of matters, like during their conversation with Shadow in Final Haunt’s Expert Mode where Charmy accuses Vector of eating all of his pudding, leading to a huge fight.
Despite their many arguments, Charmy actually looks up to his boss. He has a habit of repeating Vector’s statements and imitating him. When the Chaotix’s new client from the Neo Metal Sonic incident promised to pay handsomely, dollar signs showed up in both Vector’s and Charmy’s eyes, although the bee is not really known to care about money otherwise. Also, Charmy sticks with Vector rather than Espio when there are differences within the group and helps persuade the other side. Furthermore, they have a familial bond with each other, and Vector takes on a fatherly role in the team and towards Charmy, often referring to him and Espio as his "boys".[13]

Charmy hugging Vector, from Sonic the Hedgehog #75.
Due to his age, Charmy would rather play than work and calls Vector boring for not letting him most of the time. However, Vector has faith in Charmy and appreciates his abilities as a tracker, even sending him on dangerous jobs from time to time, though fully aware Charmy uses his alone time mostly to have fun instead. Sometimes Charmy does not understand Vector's decisions either and will openly oppose him if he does not like them. Vector even once said that the young detective was a "pain in his tail". Even with all this, Vector cares for Charmy a lot and values him as a true friend. He was notably torn up when he had lost Charmy in Seaside City and could not prevent him from becoming a Zombot and, feeling a strong responsibility for the bee, would not rest until he was able to track him down and save him, even though he had become a dangerous Zombot. This would prompt him to stop thinking rationally and leaving Espio to reason with him. Upon getting cured from their Zombot states, they both sing happily, with Espio joining them.
Espio the Chameleon[]

Vector putting his complete trust in Espio, from Shadow the Hedgehog.
As a vital member of the Chaotix Detective Agency, Vector respects Espio as an equal as well as a close friend. His ninja abilities often come handy for ongoing investigations and Vector even trusts Espio to handle cases on his own. However, Espio does not bother as much with payment as Vector does, occasionally leading to conflicts between the two, like in Sonic Rivals 2 where Espio failed to collect evidence to present to their client. Coupled with Vector's free-of-charge charity, this usually leaves the detectives in debt. Espio acts as the voice of reason among the group and may advise Vector against accepting certain jobs, like following their mysterious client's orders during the Neo Metal Sonic incident, but likewise is unsuccessful due to Vector's readiness to take any work that pays. Generally, Espio is very loyal to his boss and always follows his orders. On top of sharing a residence and Vector often refers to Espio and Charmy as his "boys", showing a familial bond between them.
As the calmest and most serious member of the Chaotix, Espio sometimes goes unnoticed between his louder colleagues. During the Wisp incident, Vector wondered about Espio's whereabouts, and neither he nor Charmy, Sonic and Tails realized that Espio had been standing next to them. Espio has also displayed some frustration with Vector's childish side, such as in Sonic Generations where the crocodile gobbled up three chili dogs at once at Sonic's birthday party while Espio shook his head in embarrassment.

Vector trusts Espio as an equal and effective co-worker of Team Chaotix and knows he can depend on him to get the job done. When Vector gets agitated and acts upon his emotions without thinking, Espio is usually there to calm him down or reason with him. Despite Vector's rashness, he is still level-headed enough to create effective strategies which Espio follows through on because he trusts him as a leader. The pair have come to see each other not only as partners but as great friends. For example, Vector sacrificed himself with a smile on his face in order to stay behind with the Zombots in Restoration HQ so Espio could escape, during which he appointed him as the new lead detective of the Chaotix, while Espio could only look on in silence, tearing up over his friend. Eventually, with the combined efforts of Super Sonic and Super Silver, they were able to warp the entirety of the Metal Virus away from the world and to the sun. This act turned Vector back to normal, leaving him to joyfully sing with Espio and Charmy.
Knuckles the Echidna[]
Vector and Knuckles are on good terms with each other with Vector even helping Knuckles during the Newtrogic High Zone incident, though they do not interact often with one another in the present day. Regardless, Vector gave advice to Knuckles when Team Sonic was fighting Metal Overlord, apparently acknowledging his great power.[14]
During the second World Grand Prix, Knuckles felt underwhelmed having to race against Vector and the rest of Team Rose, treating them like a joke as he was irritated by their loud behavior. Although Vector managed to defeat Knuckles one time, the echidna still said he would not get far with brute force, enraging the crocodile.
Vector was a high-ranking member of the Resistance during the War to Take Back the Planet, acting under Knuckles as the commander. He unsurprisingly appreciated the echidna for his aggressive (yet sometimes short-sighted) generalship[15] considering Vector's own liking of non-peaceful methods.[16]
Amy Rose[]

Amy scolding Vector, from Sonic Free Riders.
Amy and Vector first met during the Neo Metal Sonic incident. After saving the Chao in Lost Jungle, Vector addressed Amy politely to ask her a question, but was turned down by her, saying it would have to wait if it was about a date. Vector, who was not going to ask her out, called her a little brat in his fury, eventually leading into a fight between the two teams, Amy calling Team Chaotix a bunch of losers. They later put their differences aside to work together and distract Metal Madness before going separate ways again.
Later, Amy hired Vector to join Team Rose for the new World Grand Prix in Sonic Free Riders, promising him to get half the prize money if he would help her and Cream to their victory, in hopes of impressing Sonic. Unsurprisingly, they did not get along once again. Despite only hiring him half an hour prior to the championship, Amy blamed Vector for appearing almost too late to sign in. Then, Vector destroyed Amy's illusion about fate by calling her "a terrible actress" for pretending not to know about Sonic's participation. Amy, on the other hand, claimed him to be the one and only useless kid on Team Rose. Vector also had some trouble communicating with Amy due to their age difference, as Amy was outraged when Vector used a figure of speech to describe he was getting serious, believing they lost earlier because of him. Quarrelling their way through the Grand Prix with Cream caught in between, they eventually faced Team Dark in one of the finals, where Vector said "We'll show you what a team that actually cares for each other can do!" indicating they at least share some kind of sympathy for each other. In the end, Amy was not sorry for Vector having to return home broke, stating he should be happy for having had the chance to race with two cuties.

Amy and Vector dancing, from Sonic the Hedgehog #31.
During the War to Take Back the Planet, Amy and Vector worked alongside each other in the Resistance to defend the world from Dr. Eggman, although they never properly interact. Though, it can be assumed that they're better friends with each other nowadays and seem to get along more than they used to. And despite their differences, Amy and Vector nowadays seem to hold some respect for each other and can count on each other when the situation needs it. Amy was seen tearing up when Vector sacrificed himself to the Zombots, so everyone could escape, and both were later seen dancing together at the celebrations once the Metal Virus was destroyed.
Cream the Rabbit[]
Just like with Amy, Cream and Vector first met when getting into a fight in Lost Jungle, but unlike with her pink friend, Vector and Cream did not throw insults at each other thanks to the rabbit's good demeanor even in the most intense situations. Later, Vector and Cream teamed up in the Ex-World Grand Prix thanks to Amy hiring the crocodile. The two generally seemed to get along with each other well, as Vector treated her more respectfully than Amy and likewise, Cream actually showed sympathy for him, being sad when it turned out Vector had worked for nothing. However, Cream was frustrated about her teammates' constant arguments, knowing her mother, Vanilla, and Cheese were both watching them, and also was a bit annoyed at him daydreaming about the cash prize and often reminding her how they would split it. As with Amy, Cream got a little upset due to Vector's priorities over winning the cash prize instead of concentrating on the race.
Silver the Hedgehog[]

Team Vector working together, from Team Sonic Racing.
During the Onyx Island incident, Vector linked several Chao disappearances to Silver and had Espio track the hedgehog down, unaware of him trying to protect them. The Chaotix later fought alongside Silver as part of the Resistance, combining their powers to take down Phantom Copies of their past enemies created by the Phantom Ruby.
Vector and Silver eventually found themselves in the middle of Dodon Pa's Grand Prix in Team Sonic Racing, where Silver was willing to join Team Vector, jokingly adding he would only do so to bail the crocodile out of trouble once he ran into some. In return, Vector suggested his two partners were unreliable, quickly adding they were the best team once he realized Silver was eavesdropping on the conversation. However, Vector admired Silver's determination and was glad to team up with him, trying to lift his spirit with his easy-going nature.[17]
Blaze the Cat[]
While both attended Sonic's birthday party during the Time Eater incident, Vector and Blaze had their first real interaction during Dodon Pa's Grand Prix, where each of them arrived at the race hosted by Dodon Pa for their own reasons. In hopes of winning the cash prize, Vector persuaded Blaze to form Team Vector along with Silver, and they joined the Grand Prix together. Blaze taunted him for appointing himself the leader of their team and claimed he was the only racer interested in the prize money, which would be beneath a princess, but she eventually realized Vector was lying about his motivations. As the crocodile gave his team a pep talk, Blaze confronted him about it, and Vector complimented the princess for catching him in his lie before revealing the truth about his investigation. However, Vector admired Blaze's determination and was glad to team up with her, trying to lift her spirit with his easy-going nature.[17]
Rouge the Bat[]
Vector and Rouge first met in Sonic Heroes during a big misunderstanding. Rouge believed Team Chaotix were after Eggman's secret treasure and attacked them as she wanted to have it for herself, while Vector only wondered who the broad was shouting at them, but decided to give her a fight if she wanted one. Rouge later doubted her actions, and they eventually worked together to fight Metal Madness.
Rouge and Vector have a common interest in everything valuable. In Sonic Free Riders, they both joined the World Grand Prix solely motivated by the prize money. When facing Rouge in the finale, Vector tried to reach through to her by saying while he could empathize in wanting the prize money badly, it would not be worth sacrificing her own teammate for it. However, Rouge brushed him off, not understanding why he, Amy and Cream would get worked up so much over a machine.
When both Vector and Rouge were transported to White Space by the Time Eater, Rouge showed big interest in acquiring a Red Star Ring for herself. It was hinted she hired Vector to collect one for her in Rooftop Run, because as soon as Sonic collected all of them in the stage, Vector worried about getting into trouble with her.
Dr. Eggman[]
The earliest confrontation between Vector and Eggman was during the Newtrogic High Zone incident, where the crocodile joined forces with various other heroes to take the loathed scientist down. Much later, during the Neo Metal Sonic incident, Vector and the rest of the Chaotix were hired by Eggman, claiming he heard good things about them and persuaded Vector to work for him by promising a great reward. Despite facing their client's supposed adversary, "Eggman", many times during their mission, Vector soon figured out they were hired by the real Eggman but decided to help him anyway, holding on to his promise to pay them handsomely. When it turned out Eggman was unable to pay them, however, Vector at last had enough of his lies and Team Chaotix beat him up. After helping the others fight Metal Overlord, the trio caught Eggman trying to sneak away and chased after him. Vector loathes Eggman and prefers not having to deal with him, but often gets pulled near his presence due to the Chaotix's investigations.
Sonic the Hedgehog[]

Sonic questioning Vector's antics, from Sonic Channel.
Vector shares a casual friendship with Sonic as their easy-going nature and shared love for chili dogs make them get along. They will hang out from time to time and will not shy away from making fun of one another, but also know they can rely on each other when the situation calls for it. Vector appreciates Sonic for his heroics and his abilities, while Sonic trusts Vector and his detective agency to get any job done, though he is usually puzzled by Vector's unconventional work policy. Thus, Vector has become one of Sonic's most dependable allies.[18] Vector even offered Sonic to join the Chaotix Detective Agency, who declined since their adventures sounded like his average day.
However, their big egos have caused them to clash on occasion. Vector expressed some frustration during the Wisp incident when the hedgehog barged in on his investigation. Sonic teased him saying he never expected the Chaotix would get busy, and Vector later returned the favor when he complimented Sonic for his skills, only to add he wished Sonic could learn to shut his big mouth. Sonic then pointed out Vector himself was the one with the big mouth, but the latter felt falsely accused, stating he was a crocodile after all.
When working together, Vector and Sonic have surprised each other with their respective kind-heartedness and trust. Notably, Sonic is able to look through the detective's goofy façade and is willing to put his faith in him, recognizing that there is defined method in his otherwise unconventional methods. Also, at the end of the day, they are willing to acknowledge each other for being more than meets the eye.[18] Vector has been known to trust his judgement when in difficult situations, such as when they discussed what they should do with Dr. Eggman when he lost his memories.
To Vector, Sonic is a great and valuable ally. He has been known to trust his judgement when in difficult situations, such as when they discussed what they should do with Dr. Eggman when he lost his memories. Vector and Sonic usually remain on friendly terms, though Vector has commented on Sonic's habit of making dramatic entrances. Sonic, in turn, tends to poke fun at Vector's greed for money and their shared love for action.[19][20][21][22]
Miles "Tails" Prower[]
Vector and Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog: Spring Broken!
Vector is good friends with Tails, with both of them sharing a common interest in detective work and solving mysteries. On Halloween, they first worked together alongside Sonic, Espio and Charmy to find out who was stealing people's candy.[23] They both worked well together a second time to find the culprit who sabotaged Silver's flowers during the Annual Flower Frolic Competition, to which they both congratulated each other for solving the case as a team, with Tails referring to Vector as "old chum", showing they both have some respect for each other.[24]
Avatar[]

Vector complimenting the Avatar, from Sonic Forces: Moment of Truth.
In Sonic Forces, Vector got to know the Avatar, most often referred to as "the Rookie", when they joined the Resistance. Vector initially did not hold the Rookie in high regard: after their rescue mission in Prison Hall, Vector noted how the Avatar kept shivering throughout the operation, and advised Knuckles against sending the Rookie on a mission with Sonic. However, Vector's tone changed after cooperating in an evacuation mission in Park Avenue. While initially worried the Death Egg Robots might be too much for the Rookie to handle, Espio and Charmy soon commented at the Rookie's skills, leaving Vector somewhat astounded.[25] After the mission, Vector half-jokingly added the Rookie would hog all of his glory. During later operations, Vector was a lot more supportive and had full confidence in the Rookie's abilities. In the end, Vector admitted he was not sure of the Rookie at first, but had changed his mind about that.
Vanilla the Rabbit[]

Vector eating with Vanilla, from Sonic the Hedgehog #66.
Vector is shown to have a crush on Vanilla the Rabbit, with him often being polite and a bit shy towards her. After the Zombot apocalypse was over, Vanilla offered to help him by running the Chaotix Detective Agency's office so that Vector and his colleagues could do their job and look for missing people.[26] Later, Vanilla would invite the Chaotix over to her house for dinner, with Vector marking it as an important date in his diary (even drawing love hearts around it) and it led to him wanting to get Knuckles' case regarding the Babylon Rogues over and done with quickly. After successfully defeating the Babylon Rogues and giving Knuckles back his stolen relics, he was shocked to find out Espio and Charmy were invited to Vanilla's too.[27]
Nite the Owl and Don the Rooster[]

Don playfully berating the Chaotix, from Sonic the Hedgehog #73.
Vector is good friends with Nite the Owl and Don the Rooster, and the two sometimes help the Chaotix with some cases and babysit Charmy whilst Vector and Espio are busy. The pair was helping the detectives on their investigation on Clean Sweep Inc., and eventually helped them on their fight against Clutch with Don helping to rescue the Detectives when they were held captive in the engine room.
Clutch the Opossum[]

Clutch glares angrily at Vector, from Sonic the Hedgehog #48.
Vector is aware of Clutch the Opossum's true nature and his intentions. After fighting him once and personally destroying the Opposum's remaining badnik collection, Vector and the Chaotix eventually started investigating Clean Sweep Inc.. After recovering a substantial amount of dirt on Clutch that could take down his company the night before the Clean Sweepstakes, Clutch held them captive in the Battleship's engine room before they were later freed by Amy, Tails, Belle and Don.
