History

Some years ago, the Valley Folk and the Mountain Folk were visited by Queen Aleena Hedgehog, who gave them the two halves of a medallion for safekeeping. Unfortunately, the Mountain Folk's medallion went missing, and the Mountain Folk accused the Valley Folk of stealing it. This led to a feud between the two groups that later hindered their efforts to prevent Robotnik from constructing a dam near their home. As such, Aleena contacted her children Sonic, Sonia, and Manic and instructed them to help the two groups make peace.

The trio were able to persuade the Valley and Mountain Folk to meet for discussions, but the fiery tempers of Valley Folk leader Zeb and Mountain Folk leader Granny made the situation difficult. Eventually, they were persuaded to join forces, and helped Sonic and his siblings defeat Dr. Robotnik's Guardian Bot and the bounty hunters Sleet and Dingo. After the dam's destruction, the two groups celebrated, and discovered the Mountain Folk's missing medallion, which Granny had misplaced years ago. The two groups were thus reconciled, and gave their medallions to the Hedgehog siblings, who discovered that together they formed a map.
