The Underground Water Works[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. It is an underground swamp located beneath Robotropolis.

Description[]

The Underground Water Works is a series of underground passageways and caverns beneath Robotropolis, with multiple metal water pipes and rivers running through it. At its center lies a large pool of water, with a small island in the middle of it. Said island is connected to the rest of the Underground Water Works via a yellow bridge, and possesses a large spire, surrounded by several smaller water tanks.[1]

History[]

TV series[]

Season one[]

Having been told their mother had been spotted there by an old lion, the Sonic Underground explored the Underground Water Works in search of her. However, they soon realized they had been lured into a trap when Sleet, Dingo, and their Swatbot troop arrived, and cornered them on the island. They were pursued by a roboticized Argus, whom they briefly restored the free will of using their Medallions. Revealing the location of their mother to them, the Sonic Underground noticed a disguised Dingo approaching her, sending Sonic to warn her just in time, allowing her to escape the Underground Water Works, and burying Dingo under a load of fallen rocks in the process. As Manic and Sonia were still trapped on the island, Argus used his laser cannon to cut down the central spire, allowing them also to escape from it. Argus then threw Sleet into the water, shortly before the effects of the Medallions wore off, and he returned to being a mindless servant of Dr. Robotnik. In a last-ditch effort, Dingo attempted to arrest Sonic, but was tricked by him into breaking a water pipe, partially flooding the Underground Water Works while the Sonic Underground made their escape.[1]
