The Turtloids are characters that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are a mass-produced turtle-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman which serve as aerial transport for robots incapable of flight.

Turtloids are based on turtles, hence their name. These large, tired-looking robots possess two gray jet engines on their backside instead of hindlegs. They also have a gray metallic head with a turtle nose and front legs. They also got a large, green shell with a yellow underbelly.

Kept in storage aboard the Death Egg Mark 2, the Turtloids first saw use as mounts for a group of Egg SWATs sent to intercept Team Fighters on their way to Albion. Amy Rose commandeered one of them for her own use, while the rest were destroyed by a targeted missile strike from the Torando.[1][2]

Powers and abilities

Turtloids are capable of flight by using their hind legs as rocket engines, even while carrying the weight of a Egg SWAT, and can shoot energy beams from their mouths.[2]

  • The Turtloids are based on the enemy that debuted in Sonic the Hedgehog 2. Unlike their game counterparts however, this incarnation of the Turtloids do not have smaller versions of themselves riding them.
