The Turtloids are characters that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are a mass-produced turtle-based Badnik model created by Dr. Eggman which serves as aerial transport for robots incapable of flight.

Appearance[]

Turtloids are based on turtles, hence their name. These large, tired-looking robots possess two gray jet engines on their backside instead of hind legs. They also have a gray metallic head with a turtle nose and front legs, as well as a large, green shell with a yellow underbelly. The smaller turtle robots stand on the larger ones' back, apparently piloting them while hanging onto the pole set on the larger ones' shell. These smaller variants are very similar to the big ones, with exception of being able to stand on two back feet and having more enthusiastic expressions.

History[]

The Turtloids were created by Dr. Eggman during his campaign for world domination, and would be faced on more than one occasion by Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower.[1][2]

Personality[]

When Sonic mercilessly punted a smaller Turtloid unit off of their larger counterpart, the large Turtloid was shown feeling depressed at what happened.[1]

Powers and abilities[]

Turtloids are capable of flight by using their hind legs as rocket engines.
