Template:Item The Turbo Star (ターボスター Tābosutā?) is a recurring Board type Extreme Gear in the Sonic Riders series. It possesses astonishing acceleration capabilities.

Game Appearances

Sonic Riders

Accelerates quickly to achieve top speed!

Game description in Sonic Riders.

The Turbo Star made its first appearance in Sonic Riders. It can be obtained by clearing Mission 5 at Green Cave with a Gold rank.

The Turbo Star in Sonic Riders is designed as a typical, but aerodynamic, Board type Extreme Gear, with black edge accents, and a white board-enclosed surface with yellow markings.

The Turbo Star has no special abilities, but possesses an amazing acceleration stat, reducing setbacks from bumping into obstacles to a minimum. However, its drawback is that it has low top speed and low boost speed.

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity

The initial acceleration on this gear allows the rider to recover quickly from bumps and scrapes.

Game description in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.

The Turbo Star reappeared later in Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity. In this game, the Turbo Star received a redesign, where it was made thicker with round curves, giving it a more bulky look. The rear was especially increased in size, having been made nearly spherical, with two silver-colored exhaust ports on the rear. It still maintained its color scheme of yellow and black from Sonic Riders, however, being primarily colored yellow, with black edges on the sides of the front and midsection.

The Turbo Star retains in this game its amazing acceleration properties from Sonic Riders, and with its Gear Parts, it can increase its acceleration even further.

Sonic Free Riders

A gear with astounding initial acceleration specs, perfect for getting back in the race after losing speed.

Game description in Sonic Free Riders.

The Turbo Star made another appearance in Sonic Free Riders, where its initial acceleration specs granted it perfect acceleration for those who needed to get back in a race after falling behind.

In this game, the Turbo Star received a new design as well, where it returned to having a more board-like shape, much like it had in Sonic Riders, but with inward curves around the midsection. It was primarily colored somewhat citrine, with dark gray edges on the side borders, and had green streaks along the edges.

Just like in Sonic Riders and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, the Turbo Star retains its great acceleration stats in this game, allowing the players to quickly gain the lead, even without boosting, though its other stats are still below average. It can be equipped with up to two Gear Parts.
