The Tummel Crystal[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom series. It is a legendary crystal of immense power which is sought by villains for their mech suits.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Tummel Crystal is almost two times the size of a fist. It consists of a number of differently-sized black crystal spikes growing out of a base made of cracked brown rock. It is also shown to glitter despite its coloration.
Powers and traits[]
The Tummel Crystal is capable of generating enormous amounts of energy that are ideal for energizing and empowering any kind of mech suit; according to Dr. Eggman, if one were to harness the Tummel Crystal properly for their mech suits, one could wield limitless power. Most noticeably, it was able to power MeBot, whose design drained regular batteries in seconds, indefinitely.[1]

A legendary relic, the Tummel Crystal became renowned for being able to power any kind of mech suit. Lore claimed it was buried in the catacombs deep below Buddy Buddy Temple.[1]
Season two[]
The Tummel Crystal is found.
In the present day, the Tummel Crystal was sought by Charlie to power his mech suit. After he told about it to Dr. Eggman however, the doctor excavated it from its catacombs with the aid of the Froglodytes and some enslaved Gogobas, and used it as a power source for MeBot. Sonic however, managed to claim the crystal after defeating MeBot.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Tummel Crystal's name contains a small reference: "Tummel" is the Yiddish word for "chaos" which could be a nod to the Chaos Emeralds or Chaos Crystals.[2]
- The Tummel Crystal is the first mineral-based power source in the Sonic Boom television series to not be mentioned alongside the Ancients.
