Tufftee from Sonic the Comic #3. Art by Casanovas.

Tufftee is a character that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. He is a squirrel from the Green Hill Zone who wanted to be a hero like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Tufftee found a pair of Sonic's old Power Boots and ran off to prove himself, but was captured by Badniks in the Marble Zone. Sonic managed to rescue him from being turned into a Badnik himself. However, Sonic was nearly crushed by a falling spiked weight until Tufftee pushed him out of the way. Sonic then took Tufftee back to the Green Hill Zone and reunited him with his sister, Sally Acorn. While Tufftee gleefully informed his sister that he was a real hero (having saved Sonic), Sonic turned the young squirrel upside down and took back the old Power Boots, reminding him: "Don't mess about with things that only work for me! Remember, there's only one Sonic the Hedgehog!"[1]
