Tropical Chao is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a Chao that can increase their bonded individual's rewards.

Appearance

Tropical Chao have green pudding-like bodies with round, waterdrop-like heads. They also have closed eyes, no noses or mouths, round torsos that are smaller than their heads, smooth feet with no legs, and arms with no visible hands. In addition, neither their arms nor feet have digits. However, they have pale pinks tips on their arms, feet, and head points. They also have a floating pale pink dot above their heads, yellow bellies, short and round tails, and a small set of wings on their backs. For attire, they wear a pear or orange sunglasses.

Overview

In Sonic Speed Simulator, Tropical Chao is a collectible pet of the "Legendary" rarity. It could be purchased at a display model near the starting point in Green Hill for 499 Robux on 11 April 2022. Alternatively, the player could buy five of them at once for 1,749 Robux from a display model in the same world. However, the option to purchase them was removed approximately a week afterwards.

In gameplay, Tropical Chao can be equipped to the playable character, allowing them to fly by the side of the playable character as they move around. In addition, when equipped, the Tropical Chao will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up Tropical Chao for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Tropical Chao will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can fuse a Tropical Chao by collecting five Tropical Chao, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Fusing a Tropical Chao will result in a singular fused Chao at level 1.

Powers and abilities

Tropical Chao are capable of flight. In addition, they possess the power to increase the rewards granted to the person they have bonded with.
