The Triple Boost is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] Much similar to one with the same name in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds , the Triple Boost's icon displays the trio of White Wisps are flying forward, where one of them wears the crown and royal mantle.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Triple Boost can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Rival Sonic .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Triple Boost by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. Additionally, if the Triple Boost is stored in the item slot, the trio of the White Wisps appear above the user. When used, the Triple Boost will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. For each use, one of the White Wisps will disappear as they give the user the boost of speed, also one of the White Wisps will disappear from the power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD. In conclusion, the user can use the Triple Boost three times per pickup, with the final one giving the user the largest boost of speed. However, getting damaged while the Triple Boost is in effect will prematurely end the power-up, although the latter use will still be stored (if the user has).
The Triple Boost can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8, 14 and 20 respectively. For each upgrade, the Triple Boost will last longer.
