Transform Terrain[1] is an action used by Amy Rose in Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice. When using it, Amy delivers a hit with her hammer that shifts the terrain.
Description[]
When performing Transform Terrain, Amy pulls out her hammer and hits the ground in front of her with enough force to cause tremors that shift the terrain. With Fire or Ice Mode active, this technique releases a shockwave of fire or ice that depends on the elemental mode currently selected. When used in the air however, Amy flips around with her hammer, which she only hits the ground with after landing, upon where it will create a shockwave. Amy can also throw her hammer at a target from afar if she is in the air. When used in this way, the hammer will bounce off the surface it hits and return to Amy.
In gameplay, Transform Terrain is Amy's primary attack move. Using Transform Terrain near a pillar causes said pillar to lower for a short time, allowing the player to either walk over the pillar or ride it upward when it resets. Additionally, the move can damage enemies that are caught within its range.
To use Transform Terrain in gameplay, the player must press . When pressing in midair, Amy will deliver the same kind of attack, except that she flips around with her hammer held out in a front of her. In this state, when hitting any enemies or breakable objects, she will bounce off it while still in an attack state.
