The Tracker[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a handheld display device created by Dr. Eggman.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Tracker is a small, thin device with a circular shape. It is roughly designed after Dr. Eggman, meaning that its bottom is dark gray, like the doctor's pants; while the top is red, like his shirt, and gray to simulate his head. From the front, it also has two "eyes" on the top, a set of "teeth" in the center, and two buttons at the bottom; all of which are yellow in color.
Powers and abilities[]

The Tracker can project a red holographic screen from its "eyes" to manage personal information and display video feeds from external sources like Monkey Dudes. It can also be used as a remote control to wirelessly operate various contraptions in Eggman's bases.
History[]
Sonic Mania Adventures[]
The Tracker was created by Dr. Eggman at some point either during or after Sonic's absence following the first Phantom Ruby incident, for a nasty scheme to get the seven Chaos Emeralds. Following the hedgehog's return, the doctor would accidentally drop it after falling into his own trap, thus revealing his plans to his nemesis. Sonic later gave the Tracker to Tails to show him what Eggman was up to. Soon after, the doctor used this device to watch a display from a Monkey Dude that was spying on Knuckles.
Afterwards, on their way to Eggman's base, Sonic and Tails brought the Tracker with them. During their battle against a Chaos Emerald energy-infused Metal Sonic, the fox used the device to trap the robot into a force field and then strip the Emeralds from him.
Trivia[]
- Concept artwork of the Tracker has its holographic screen light blue in color. However, in Sonic Mania Adventures, it is red instead.
