Tokyo-To is the primary location featured in the Jet Set Radio franchise, and is the hometown of Gum and Beat. It is a large city known for its urbanization and notorious criminal and gang activity.

Tokyo-To has a large population of both citizens and tourists, and was secretly operated by criminal forces. It has made many appearances within the Sonic the Hedgehog and Sega All-Stars series'.

History[]

Tokyo-To, or just Tokyo in some cases, is a popularized city in Japan, known for its tourist attractions and high-level crime rates. The city is best known for its ongoing turf wars in the Jet Set Radio series, which are usually dominated by the GG's. This city is also distinguished by its aggressive police force and assassination organization the Golden Rhinos. The mega company, the Rokkaku Group, also has a heavy presence in the city as well.

Sega Superstars Tennis[]

Tokyo-To makes an appearance in Sega Superstars Tennis through its Shibuya Terminal, which appears as an in-game tennis court. The location is based from the location from the original Jet Set Radio, and has the court covered in graffiti art. It also has some of its residents and S.W.A.T team as part of the spectators, including DJ Professor K and Combo. In the game, it is the signature court of Beat and Gum.

The Jet Set Radio Ballgame also utilizes the Shibuya Downtown tennis court, where the player must collect spray cans and match its color with the graffiti on the opposite end. If the player clears the graffiti without making a mistake, they will acquire a Graffiti Soul, which grants them 1,000 bonus points.

Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing[]

Tokyo-To is featured as one of the primary locations in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing. The game includes three racetracks from Jet Set Radio Future based on the city - Rokkaku Hill, Shibuya Downtown, and Highway Zero. Each racetrack contains an in-game profile that gives a descriptive overview of the city and the racetrack's origins.

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed[]

In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Tokyo-To returns as part of the Graffiti City racetrack, narrated by DJ Professor K. It takes place in the original Jet Set Radio universe, according to its page on the official website, as it takes place in Shibuya-cho.[1] The racetrack has three separate laps, with the final lap having the player enter "plane mode" and soar through the skies and plane takeoff area near.

The Shibuya Downtown racetrack from the previous game returns as one of the few classic tracks, and is featured in the Classic Cup.
