Thrills & Quills: The Making of Sonic the Hedgehog 2, also known as simply Thrills & Quills, is a behind-the-scenes featurette about the development of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 that premiered on Nickelodeon on 1 April 2022, about a week before the film's release.

Plot[]

Dana Heath gives a special look into Sonic the Hedgehog 2. The special is somewhat separated into 8 different parts.

She gives a recap of the first film, saying that some people might have not watched it, "hard to imagine, but possible". She ends up finishing in 50 seconds, which happens to be a "new record" for her.

Through the first Ring she throws, Ben Schwartz, Jeff Fowler, Jim Carrey, Idris Elba, and Natasha Rothwell all give a brief overview of the film, with behind-the-scenes footage and scenes from the film shown along with it.

The next scene sees Toby Ascher, Jeff Fowler, James Marsden, and Natasha Rothwell talk about the different locations in the film, and they more specifically talk about the wedding scene near the middle of the film.

Since, "there's so many things to explore in this new movie. [she] just can't decide where to go next," Dana flips a coin to decide. It ends up on "tails" which has Tails' face on it. This leads into a section on Tails himself and his role in the film.

The next Ring Dana throws, after saying that, "some people around here are more likely to give you a side punch," leads to a section about Knuckles and his role in the film.

The next Ring takes her into another room, where Hayden Burgoyne talks to her about the "science of Sonic the Hedgehog," speaking about sonic booms, Tails' flight, and Knuckles' punches. Right before she leaves, he confuses the Ring for an "Einstein Rosen Bridge."

Instead of going through a Ring, the next section has Dana talk to Sonic and Tails themselves. Sonic states that he goes by "Blue Justice" now (his self-proclaimed hero identity) and Tails shows off his flying technique with his tails. Knuckles also gets to talk, stating that he finds humans to be "soft and undisciplined weaklings," but admits to be fond of Earth's grapes.

Her last Ring leads to a "sneak peak" at the film, which shows off the snowboarding scene in the film. After that, she manages to find one more Ring on the ground and throws it at the camera, ending the special.
