  • Hello Jimmy. Ultrasonic here. I am glad you are administrating the categories for the article character, but you should know that even characters not native to the current Sonic Prime universe are still a part of the old continuity. The whole multiverse collapse following the reboot, meaning every dimension and timeline, past and present before that is gone noe, meaning everything in it belong to the old continuity.

    • Sorry if this was a bother, but I was just confused about it. My apologies.

        Loading editor
    • You were not a bother at all. I am used to dealing with stuff like this and I am sorry if I came off as rude, because that was not my intention. You said it yourself¬†: you are still learning and I'll be happy to show you the ropes.

        Loading editor
    • Hello again. I hope you will not mind hearing this, but the Dark Mobius characters are also a part of the Pre-Super Genesis Wave timeline. Remember: the whole multiverse, past and future, was rewritten.

        Loading editor
    • Sorry again. I noticed that some pages has the "Pre-Super Genesis Wave" template but were in the "Archie Comics characters" category and was trying to fix it up with what I thought was supposed to go where. They were alternate versions of game characters so I must have gotten confused with some (except characters from Light Mobius, I think I got those right). I had noticed that the "Ifrit (Archie)"¬† didn't have a "Post-Super Genesis Wave" template, which led to me adding that, and then I noticed the template situation and with the whole "grandparent category" thing... you know the rest. Sorry about the bother.

    • No worries. the articles with Pre-Super Genesis Wave and archie comics characters had the latter added by editors that did not understand the new system, so many of the articles are messed up like that. Know that I hold nothing against you, just want to provide friendly reminders.

    • Hello Jimmy. You should know that when the template says "categorise= no" in a template like {{STC|character|categorise= no}}, it means that it is to prevent grandparent categories due to other categories the article has. For example, Commander Brutus has it because he has category "Badniks (Sonic the Comic)" which is under the category "Sonic the Comic characters".

        Loading editor
    • Sorry again. I got confused because "Badniks (Sonic the Comic)" page was under the "Sonic the Comic groups" category and got a little confused. Sorry for any accidents.

    • You could help split the articles. It is a hard task for me alone as only I am doing any work (no offense guys).

        Loading editor
    • Sorry about that. I honestly haven't figured out how to do that. I started putting up the "Separate" templates in hopes that someone who did know would be able to do it. Sorry I made you do all that work.

    • Dont feel sorry about it. It has to be done at some point. I just feel a little overwhelmed about it.

To split these articles, you have to create a new article with only information on that subject. Move the information over there (though more than not you have to elaborate on them with the other articles).

    • I need to ask a question real quick. Is there a way to remove a page link in a category? Another wiki I frequently edit has a link in a category that doesn't go to the page it's named for, but a different page. Is there a way to fix that?

        Loading editor
    • To remove it, you have to open the editorial page for an article and delete the category in there.

    • The characters in the Sonic and the Secret Rings (comic) are not a part of the Archie continuity.

        Loading editor
    • Sorry. I thought they were part of the"In Another Time, In Another Place" continuity. I got confused about it and added the "Separate" template. Sorry about that.

        Loading editor
    • No. It is a story that uses the Sega!characters, but tells an alternate story with them, like the Sonic Boom cast and the Sonic Boom comics.

    • I need to ask you about something. On the"Vyse" page, there is a link to a"Vyse (Archie)" page, but it leads to the"World of Skies of Arcadia" page. I tried to fix it, but the user who added it changed it back. Does this mean we have to separate the pages or is something else wrong?

        Loading editor
    • I was the one that added that link in the beginning. I thought of linking it directly to the World of the Skies of Arcadia page, but I figured it would be better to have that link since it affirmed the existence of that redirect rather than leaving it to be unnoticed.

    • I need to ask you a question. I noticed that some of the pages in the "Wanted pages" list are just alternate names for articles that already exist (for example, I found a wanted page for"Cosmo the Seedrian" when we already have a page for "Cosmo"). Is there a way to make these links into redirect links?

        Loading editor
    • What wanted list?

        Loading editor
    • There's a page that contains a list of all the links to pages that don't exist. I think it's one of those"special" pages that are around for site administration purposes. Sorry if this is a bother.

        Loading editor
    • Anyway, Cosmo the Seedrian is not an official name. "Seedrian" is a fanterm.

        Loading editor
    • Here's a link to the page if you need it: http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Special:WantedPages?limit=500&offset=0

        Loading editor
    • If there are alternate names, then investigate if they are official. If they are, make a redirect. If they are not, then erase those red links.

        Loading editor
    • I seem to have found a problem with that: Most of the pages with alternate names are part of user talk pages, which I can't edit. What do I do about that?

        Loading editor
    • I dont know.

        Loading editor
    • If you want to add that separate template, there has to be actual contents on the article that can be given its own article.

        Loading editor
    • If you don't mind me asking, is there a way to help get people to know about the "Wanted pages" list? I'm not trying to add any additional work on anybody, but I feel that if we can at least spread the word about it (it doesn't seem as if many people know about it), then we might be able to get more things sorted out with it. Sorry if this is adding another thing to your list of things to do, but I'm just making a suggestion.

        Loading editor
    • Sorry. There was a couple of red links to the article and I didn't know how else to get it noticed. Apologies for that.

        Loading editor
    • Might I ask, how do I make a redirect link? There are some red links for pages that do exist, but with alternate grammar (such as "Shadow the Hedgehog (Game) instead of "Shadow the Hedgehog (game)") and I feel like these need to be addressed.

        Loading editor
    • First of all, "Shadow the Hedgehog (Game)" is a wrong one - we do not capitalize suffixes.

        Loading editor
    • That's what I mean by "alternate grammar".

        Loading editor
    • I meant that "Shadow the Hedgehog (Game)" links must not exists, nor must a redirect be made for it.

        Loading editor
    • Okay, I've got three things to mention now: 1. The links to pages like "Shadow the Hedgehog (Game)" are all either on User pages or general discussion boards, meaning I can't remove them myself. 2. There are a couple of other pages with alternate names that could be used for redirect links, like "Scourge" being a redirect to "Scourge the Hedgehog" and "Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie character)" being a redirect to "Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie)". Would pages like that be used as redirects? 3. You never answered my question on how to make a redirect link to begin with. Not trying to sound rude, but it would help if I knew.

        Loading editor
    • It is just because, and it is by no means offensive, that I dont think you are ready for that knowledge. Your judgement of the "Shadow the Hedgehog (Game)" redirect left a bad impression on me, so I dont feeling right telling you how to make redirects if you are going to make things such as "Shadow the Hedgehog (Game)" a redirect.

        Loading editor
    • Sorry. I'm still trying to learn how the Wiki system works, and I've taken notice on the red links this wiki has that are just grammar errors. But if you don't want me to do it, can you at least try and do something about it yourself? You seem to be an influential User on this Wiki, so if you could take a look at the "Wanted pages" page (there's a link to it above) and make some sort of acknowledgement of it, I think it would benefit the Wiki as a whole. Sorry if I'm asking a lot out of you, but you know more than me, and you're the one who understands all of this, so I think you can do it, if you have the time, of course.

        Loading editor
    • Then what is the problem (sorry if I sound rude)? If they are just gramma errors you can correct them, not make a redirect with them.

        Loading editor
    • Not trying to sound rude either, but most, if not all, of the pages with grammar errors come from User pages and talk boards, which I am unable to edit. We might be able to get the Users to fix the links on their own pages, but I don't know about the talk boards. If you could help me figure this out, then the problem can be solved a little faster.

        Loading editor
    • We remain apprehensive about altering those sites as they are personal talks. As far as I know, it is just something you should ignore.

        Loading editor
    • Will you be interested in doing me a favor?

        Loading editor
    • It depends: What do you want me to do?

        Loading editor
    • Look through the list for Power Sneaker links and change the links to their proper article where necessary.

        Loading editor
    • I admire your dedication to correcting links, but there are also factors to be considered. If you simply change a link to an article hosting a part of the information needed for previous article to a future version of it, then you are cutting off readers from any kind of information we have on it. For example Mobians: sure, it is messy now, but it is also the only thing SNN got on the term and can refer to. If you change that link without any plans to make it an independent article, then the readers will not be able to find any source of information from there. If you want a link to direct to a specific section on an article you can do for example this when you want to link to the Archie!Mobians:

      [[Mobian#[insert section name here]|Mobian]]

So if you want to link Mobian to the "Archie Comics" section on the Mobian article, you write:

      [[Mobian#Archie Comics|Mobian]]
