The Temple Mountain[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. It is a mountain located in Green Hill that used house the Paradox Prism deep within its bedrock, within a cavern.

Description[]

The Temple Mountain is a large mountain with two smaller formations flanking its sides. It is made up of multiple cylindrical layers, the disparate size of each layer creating multiple circular cliffs around the mountain's circumference. A ring of clouds perpetually circles the mountain and a tapered, possibly carved, formation sits at its flat peak.

History[]

TV series[]

Season one[]

Before the battle and the Prism's shattering, Dr. Eggman chose to lure Sonic and his friends to the Temple Mountain. He knew that the Paradox Prism was somewhere inside and he planned to use Sonic to weaken the bedrock surrounding the mountain to make it easier for him to get. Tails notices that something seems off, realizes Eggman is not really in his Eggcrusher, and figures out that this is a ploy. He tries to warn a distracted Sonic, but Sonic is too preoccupied with his fight against Eggman. Tails goes in to warn Sonic again, annoying Eggman in the process and causing him to open fire and insult him. This pushes Sonic off the edge, as he gears up for an attack. He Spin-Dashes into the Eggcrusher, sending them flying off the edge of the cliff and to the floor below. The landing triggers a massive shock-wave all throughout Green Hill, and sends a large crack snaking up Temple Mountain until the top bursts, creating a weak entryway to the cavern that holds the Paradox Prism. Wrapped up in his victory, Sonic doesn't think too much about it, Tails on the other hand knows something has to be up. All the while, Dr. Eggman is overjoyed that his trick had worked; he had placed a speed-amplifier in the cockpit of his machine to boost Sonic's speed in hopes of creating an earthquake. Without it, he would've spent months digging for the Prism. He and his Badniks journey to the summit of the mountain to start extracting the Prism ,when Sonic and his crew catch wind of his plans. Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Rouge decide to investigate while Sonic 'rings-up' and has an encounter with Shadow. The gang finds the clouds above the mountain suspicious and decide to check them out, only to see that Eggman had beat them there. The gang retaliates in attempt to stop Eggman's efforts, with Sonic arriving fashionably late, as usual. Sonic and crew start bashing Badniks all while Eggman tries to rip the Prism out himself. Sonic notices what he's doing and, despite his friends' warnings, Spin-Dashes into the Prism in an attempt to break it before Eggman can get to it. He ends up shattering it, resulting in the creation of the Shatterverse, affecting everyone in the room except the newly-arriving Shadow, who used Chaos Control to avoid it.

Season two[]

Sonic returns to the Temple Mountain with Shadow. The black hedgehog shows him that the yellow Shard is still in place in the Ghost Prism, the blueprint of the Paradox Prism. Sonic and Shadow form a plan to obtain all the Shards, bring them to the cave, and put the Paradox Prism together in an effort to fix their world and save their friends.

A while later, Sonic and Shadow take Nine and the red, green and blue Shards in the makeshift Shard Case to the cave. Nine asks them to have some alone time in order to properly assemble the Prism. Sonic and Shadow leave the cave, and Nine gets to work. The fox is later attacked by Eggforcers, but he easily takes care of them. The cave of the Temple Mountain is the setting for the final scene of season two, where Sonic and Nine have an argument about the use of the Shards and their combined form: Sonic wanted to save his home reality and his friends, whilst Nine wanted to make a new home in The Grim. He fires Prism Energy with his mechanical tails at the nearly restored Prism, destroying the Ghost Prism, and allowing Nine to steal the four Shards. He opened a portal to The Grim, exiting Ghost Hill through it, leaving Sonic and Shadow behind with the empty Prism Crater.

Season three[]

Because Nine took the yellow Prism Shard to The Grim, rebuilt the Paradox Prism using all of the Shards, and began using it to transform The Grim whilst it was unstable, the Temple Mountain starts to self-destroy while Shadow and Sonic were escaping it.
