The new template's colors really creep me out, I liked the old one better. *thumbs down* --Schoolbus13 - You're Connected! - Works of Art 15:42, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, right. I was asked to change our generic templates (such as this one) from plain purple to something more colourful after I went and boasted to Fairfieldfencer FFF about my editcounter and that I had more edits than he had.

Boasted? Isn't that bragging? --Schoolbus13 - You're Connected! - Works of Art 15:53, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Yep, sure thing.

Alright, what gives you the right to do this LB!? You know what, I'm tired of this! You've done it before, but I didn't say a word, but I'm not doing that anymore! Get it through your skull, you're not an admin! You keep doing stuff that only admins should be doing, such as making categories and tagging Users as meatpuppets, sockpuppets, or alternate accounts, and just plain bullying and isulting Users! What the heck makes you so special? I just feel stuff like this should be left to those who earned those rights and the responsibilities to do so, not some showoff doing all this stuff to show off what he can do to earn those rights. I'm sorry to anyone I might have insulted, but that is my honest opinion, and I have no regrets showing it.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round~ 16:12, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Yes, you have NO admin rights. --Schoolbus13 - You're Connected! - Works of Art 16:14, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

I have authorisation from other admins. You don't like, go complain to the bureaucrat who authorised the overhaul.
Hey, edit counts don't make you special or important. Neither does knowing all this fancy stuff. If it did, you would have been made an admin a long time ago. But there is something about becoming an admin on Wikipedia that I think applies here. It says that an admin must be popular among the editing community, which means you've got to be civil and friendly towards others. Not an outright jerk! I wastop editor for months on here, but I didn't go bragging about it to every Tom, Dick or Harry I met, and I certainly wouldn't be intimidated by it. Especially since most of those edits have likely gone on your little template projects and userpage. I have reverted the template since it was immediately disliked by our editors, and consensus over rules my opinion.Fairfieldfencer FFF 16:48, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

I understand.

Unfortunately, it won't revert to normal. It seems to be stick on one version. I can only suggest we wait and hope for the best.Fairfieldfencer FFF 17:16, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Well, that's just great! Hopefully SLJ will be able to fix this mess. If he can't then boy, are you guys gonna hear about it.--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round~ 17:20, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

It's fixed. He changed a subpage as well. I changed it back. -- Supermorff 18:47, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you SM! Now, I suggest that none of us even think of touching this thing until there's a poll that deffinately says the majority of the Users here want it to be changed. Anyone else agree?--Kagimizu-Seeya 'round~ 19:06, 30 August 2009 (UTC)

Excellent. Tomorrow — the day before the month of the year — I will add a function for which people can test within my userspace (not that I particularly mind).

How can i add new stuff to the template?--Murphyshane 16:19, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

Sorry don't answer that question I found out myself--Murphyshane 21:15, December 27, 2009 (UTC)

Could someone change this template so we could change the color of the infobox?(e.g:Sonic: blue, tails:yellow...)

Um...Hi, I'm new here and I wanted to know how you get the picture in your character template? I've tried everyYeah and how do you even thing I could think of:?... User:Boo-yah!10121 August 06:29 pm

Yeah and how do you even work that thing?!~~ShadowStar~~ 03:24, February 5, 2011 (UTC)

Hit Points

The average boss battle against Dr. Eggman takes about 8 hits huring the classic era. Final boss battles usually 12. With different enemies and there various health, would it be helpful if character infobox also mentions the characters hit points? For example Death Egg Robot from Sonic 2 would be 12HP. It can also work for RPG characters like Pir'Oth Ix who has 1600HP.--Mystic Monkey is a proud MonoBook Wikian. 21:19, June 11, 2012 (UTC)

No, bosses and enemies generally don't use the Character infobox. -- Supermorff (talk) 19:48, June 12, 2012 (UTC)
Dr. Eggman, Chaos, Iblis and Solaris, Dark Gaia?--Mystic Monkey is a proud MonoBook Wikian. 13:44, June 20, 2012 (UTC)
All of Eggman's bosses have their own articles. Some of the Chaos bosses have their own articles too (like Chaos 6 (boss). By all means, add the hit points to those articles, maybe in a new Boss infobox or something, but not on the character page. -- Supermorff (talk) 16:34, June 20, 2012 (UTC)
I did not mean a whole new character page for pre-existing boss articles health points, I am just suggesting why not update the character infobox to have "Hit Points" option?--Mystic Monkey is a proud MonoBook Wikian. 20:03, June 23, 2012 (UTC)
I know what you were suggesting. I was disagreeing. Add it to the boss pages. Add new boss pages (not character pages) if necessary, and add it to those. -- Supermorff (talk) 20:11, June 23, 2012 (UTC)

Sonic's blue, Tails is orangey-yellow and Knuckles is red. But how exactly blue, yellow and red are they? I suggest, like infoboxes for colours on Wikipedia, Character infoboxes can have the characters theme colour in RGB or Hex triplet. While we're not a fan resources site, it can be especially useful to those who need to know the exact colour for canon accuracy of there fan work. Or interested to those who want trivial information. (Evne I am curious what is the exact blue and red of Sonic and Knuckles.)--Mystic Monkey is a MonoBook wikian. _ 01:05, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

I'd be okay with that if the characters' colours didn't change over time. -- Supermorff (talk) 22:13, January 7, 2013 (UTC)

Well they are different colours compared to Classic and Modern characters but there is canon colours are there?--Mystic Monkey is a MonoBook wikian. _ 17:28, January 12, 2013 (UTC)
I don't know, I think some colours change over time or from game to game. I'm pretty sure Sonic was darker blue in Sonic Adventure than he is now. Myself 123 17:36, January 12, 2013 (UTC)

Exclusive Sections for Robot Characters

Hello. After taking a look on templates on Mobius encyclopedia about the template for robot characters, got me thinking many of the robot articles that uses the character template. Such articles about robots makes use of info for biological creates, such as family, and gender, while lacking more mechanical sections such as armaments and Base templates, or should at least use another world for their relation to other robots, such as Mobius' "Variant" section instead of "family"

At first I thought about creating a separate template for robots. However, given the vast variables that modern robots can have (such as fur for Auto-Automatons and other organic looking traits) that would lead to creating a nearly perfect replica of the Character template. I then had this idea: What if we for our Template:Character created sections exclusivly for robot characters and/or mechs. That way, we could be covered on all kinds of variables that might occur in the future.

What you you think of this? Should we do this to the Template:Character or create a new template soley for robots?Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 20:39, March 13, 2013 (UTC)

Issue and Episode appearance lists

Well, since this template lets us list every game appearance, could we add parameters do the same for individual episodes and comic issues? So that if someone were to try to find Sonic X episodes where Amy Rose appeared in, they could find them on her Sonic X page instead of going through each episode to see if she's there or not? Or if someone wanted to find comic issues with Tails, they could find them in his infobox? SeanWheeler (talk) 00:49, March 1, 2014 (UTC)

I'm not keen on adding them to the infobox, since that could make it very large and ugly. But I am 100% in favour of adding a list of appearances to the page somewhere. -- Supermorff (talk) 12:03, March 1, 2014 (UTC)
It wouldn't make it that large if we put a scrollbox there. SeanWheeler (talk) 17:32, March 2, 2014 (UTC)
Still waiting for a response. Would it really be that big and ugly if we put a scrollbox in there? We list the game appearances the same way. SeanWheeler (talk) 22:48, March 2, 2014 (UTC)
Hello? Anyone? Supermorff? Do you read me (literally)? SeanWheeler (talk) 23:33, March 2, 2014 (UTC)
Hi, sorry, yeah. Just saw this. Scroll box would be fine. -- Supermorff (talk) 18:30, March 6, 2014 (UTC)
So, do I have your permission? I'm trying to be sure because the last time I tried to impliment it, UltraSonic removed it, saying it was too much nitpicking. SeanWheeler (talk) 21:11, March 6, 2014 (UTC)
I'll take that as a yes. *Does it*. SeanWheeler (talk) 14:23, March 7, 2014 (UTC)
I will like to note my opposition to this. Adding such a thing to the character template makes it way too long and incomprehensible, even with the scroll box. Such lists are not fitting for the character infobox since it is just summary the key elements about the character and make them short and sweet. I know it is not the case for some of the game characters, but that is only in the rare cases. Trying to not only both episode appearances and comic appearances to a single character infobox is way too much information and is too repetitive to be fitting for this template. For characters such as Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic X) would not only give 78 episode points, it will also added a repetitive comic list saying "Sonic X #[insert number]" over and over again, and that cannot do. An even worse case could be Sonic the Hedgehog (Archie) with a comic list saying "Sonic the Hedgehog #[insert number]" 257+ times and that is way out of line - it can even get messy including all the spin-off. To surmise my point, the character infobox is not fitting to place such incompressible long lists and would therefore require something else.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 20:20, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

Well, do you have a suggestion of another template that lists appearances? Like a section for near the bottom of the page? If we were to move the appearance lists, we would have to remove the game appearances from this template, because it belongs with the supposed appearance template. And it will take a lot of work to move the appearances to another, but I guess it isn't as hard as looking through each possible episode for these characters. I was just editing 21 characters at once, scanning through each Sonic X episode to see if they were present. SeanWheeler (talk) 20:51, March 8, 2014 (UTC)

I admit that the game appearances is a similar situation, but my point is that it doesn't help the character template that more of such list are put in there. That is way too many long list for this template to have. I don't say we should get rid of them, but merely move them to another section, which as you suggested should be near the bottom of the page. Maybe the game appearances should be taken down there as well, though I am not found of it sine we have had that list there for years.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 14:19, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
