The Team Blast is a special technique used by Team Sonic, Team Dark, Team Rose and Team Chaotix in Sonic Heroes. When using this move, all teammates work together to deliver a knockout technique that destroys all nearby enemies and triggers an after-effect.
Description
When performing the Team Blast, all teammates on the team join up and combine their powers to unleash a unified attack that causes widespread destruction. The performance and name of each team's Team Blast differ from each other.
To perform a Team Blast in gameplay, the player must press the White Button// when the Team Blast Gauge is full. When using a Team Blast, the player can destroy all enemies in the near vicinity, and also inflict a large amount of damage to bosses. Additionally, after using the Team Blast (for most of them), a beneficial after-effect is activated. The type and nature of the after-effect depend on the user of the Team Blast. To use the Team Blast again, the Team Blast Gauge must have reset and been fully refilled.
Each Team Blast's name, performance and effects are as follows:
Team Sonic: Knuckles and Tails knock Sonic into the air, who then bounces around the area at astounding speed. While the Team Blast Gauge resets from usage, Team Sonic can use the Light Speed Attack. This Team Blast is called Sonic Overdrive.
Team Dark: Shadow uses Chaos Control while Rouge lifts Omega off the ground, who then shoots a laser in all directions. While the Team Blast Gauge resets from usage, time will be completely frozen. This Team Blast is called Chaos Inferno.
Team Rose: Big spins Amy and Cream around on his umbrella before they all strike a pose and creates an explosion of flowers. When used, the team receives Invincible, a Barrier and a red, blue and yellow Power Core. This Team Blast is called Flower Festival.
Team Chaotix: Vector, Espio and Charmy all play loud, off-key, music. For each enemy destroyed during the attack, the team receives a RingItem Box. While the Team Blast Gauge resets from usage, Team Chaotix get a Ring Item Box for each enemy they destroy. This Team Blast is called Chaotix Recital.
There is a glitch that can be performed at Ocean Palace. Near the end of the level, where boulders are rolling towards the playable character, the player must wait until there are three boulders. When the player gets near the Dash Panel, they can use any team blast of their choice. If performed correctly, the player will see a "zoomed out" version of one them.
