While this is certainly just my opinion, I think we should create a separate page for Sonic’s character (as in, the fighter) in the Super Smash Bros. series. I’m not saying anything super in-depth to the length of his pages on SSBWiki, but just like list his moves and what their references are to his home series, what changes he underwent between each game (keep it brief), and other general stuff like his victory theme. The Brawl page already goes pretty in-depth but the coverage on him in 4 and Ultimate seems very lackluster but at the same time I realize it would be hard to cover it without regurgitating info already discussed on the Brawl page, which is why I think there should be a separate article on Sonic the Smash Bros. fighter. We could probably just move most of his stuff on the brawl page over there and build off of that. What do you guys think? Miderb (talk) 23:38, January 14, 2019 (UTC)
- Not sure. On one hand, going in-depth with him on his moveset on just one page could be beneficial and more efficient. On the other hand, there's also the side of redundancy to it. We don't normally make pages for Sonic when he appears in other games and has different moves there. We usually do it for other incarnations of him entirely. If we did, we would have pages like "Sonic the Hedgehog (Sonic Riders) and "Sonic the Hedgehog (All-Stars Racing)" and so on. More so, since Smash isn't really a Sonic game, I'm not sure we should really give it more of that attention. Those are just my thoughts though. DeCool99 (talk) 23:44, January 14, 2019 (UTC)
- That’s certainly a fair argument. There’s no reason we couldn’t make pages for the other two examples you mentioned as well, though. I think that if it’s from a spinoff or crossover game with recurring appearances then it deserves a little more elaboration and acknowledgement.Miderb (talk) 23:51, January 14, 2019 (UTC)
