I was thinking

What if this was moved/renamed as Spikes (Badnik) as I was considering making an article on the kind of Spikes located almost everywhere that Sonic lands in at times. Or do you think it's no point since spikes are spikes and kinda speak for itself? Perhaps I should start an article that lists all the hazards and obsticals?--Mystic Monkey 22:55, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

I say leave this one where it is, and call the other one "Spikes (obstacle)". It's what Sonic Retro does, and in this instance I think it's a decent solution. -- Supermorff 17:52, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah and put one of those for such & such click here. Myself 12317:55, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Exactly. -- Supermorff 18:18, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

Merge

Do you think that this article should be merged with the Spikes (Sonic 4) article? Because, despite the artistic differences, the Spikes in Sonic 4 and the original Spikes share the same concept and abilities.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 14:41, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

I don't think so. The Spikes from Sonic 4 can retract its spikes according to the article, and thus it has a different ability to the original Spikes. They look very different and they act slightly different, and although these aren't the best reasons for not merging an article it backs up the fact that they're different enemies from my statement above. I guess you could relate this to having two guys called Tom; the two boys could both have dark hair and dark eyes but they're still different people. Just my opinion though :). Hey, I'm no admin. It's just my opinion. If you want to leave it there and wait for an admin to decide, by all means do so. I'm not the only person on this wiki :P. PhysTheEchidnaSprite PhysTheEchidna (talk) PhysTheEchidnaSprite 19:55, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

This isn't an admin-only task. Why wait for an admin to decide? Why not just wait for any old user? There seems to be a common misconception that admins will always have more valid opinions just because they're admins. This isn't true at all; everyone has the right to decide on something like this, and regardless of rights, decision-making skills vary between all users. I would have to agree with Phys, however, for the same reasons, that the pages shouldn't be merged. THE REFLEX dancing on the valentine 20:08, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, I know. But as soon as I replied he removed the template, so I thought he must have just looked at my statement and decided to remove it. I just thought we should wait for a couple of others to express their opinions. And you did, so I guess it's fine now :D. So...after now that Sonic Dash has came out, it seems that Hardlight uses two different Spikes in two games. It has bothered too, if this is the same kind of badnik in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, only getting slight redesign. It shares the same pattern, name and origin, where it is based on. It has to know that enemies or characters in general can have slight change and even still being the same character. When I actually saw what Spikes look like in Sonic Dash, it seems to be mixed of Spikes from original game and ones from Sonic 4, as there aren't that much of spikes from Sonic 4 and...they couldn't do that move before. It is neat mixing of those badniks and possible proof, if these badniks are the same thing.

I would like to merge Sonic 4 article to this, but I like to do something else, if the merging is not alright for you. Like in the Unidus article (I kinda have obsession to get rid of that line in one artwork and I'm not Photoshop wizard :D), I did add a mention about the badniks that has separated articles, but which are similar to badnik from Sonic 1. The same thing would be good in this case as well. And as for Sandworm and that other sandworm, that would be done too. But is it alright to merge? I would like to know. - MarioSonic (talk) 17:13, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

I think it should be merged. They do have similar enough designs, just modernized. Bobombdom (talk) 06:48, August 5, 2013 (UTC)
