The bad ending is horribly saddening. It DOES give the player a reason to get the good ending though. Everyone that wants to save a cute character from a terrible fate, get this good ending! --Darkus Relling (talk) 06:30, December 27, 2012 (UTC)
West Side Island
Sometimes I wonder if the game actually takes place on West Side Island, not South Island. The manual itself is full of contradictions to what little story the game had.
For starters the manual said Sonic went "home" to South Island to find a note left by Tails of his kidnapping. When you begin to play the game, the manual is immediately contradicted with a cutscene of Sonic chasing Tails who is kidnapped. Also while the game itself is a spin-off game (which means questionable canonicity anyway) didn't the end of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 had Sonic and Tails go straight to Angel Island after the fall of the Death Egg?
The only evidence that the game takes place on South Island is Green Hills Zone. But again I believe this maybe a consistency error because this zone looks more like an 8-bit version of Emerald Hill Zone than Green Hill Zone. At first I thought it could be the developer couldn't fit the name "Emerald Hill Zone", which has 15 letters and 2 spaces (17), but "Under Ground Zone" has 15 letters and 2 spaces (17) so they could of named it that anyway.
Ever since playing Sonic Colours for both NDS and Wii, I have a theory that handheld versions of main series games are merely expansions of the story than seperate canons. Maybe the 8-bit version is the true story of how Sonic first met Tails or that during the events of the 16-bit Sonic 2 game, Tails was kidnapped or something. Perhaps I am right but SOnic Team decided not to have this story and renamed one of the levels (Emerald Hill Zone to Green Hills Zone) and written the story in the manual to change it.
More headcanon theories to make sense of it all than fan theories. I just don't think this game really takes place on South Island as the manual says it is.--20:06, February 24, 2013 (UTC)
First non-jungle/grasslands beginning level?
Is it worthy trivia that this game is the only one that first starts off in a level that contains no grass/trees, as other "first" zones usually do? I always noticed that was a common theme in games from before and after. Knuclear200x (talk) 23:56, June 6, 2015 (UTC)
Asked for somebody to add the good ending to the plot section.
Good ending not mentioned
Hi! I noticed that, in the Plot section, the good ending is not mentioned. However, I can't add a description of the good ending, since I have no idea what the good ending is. If somebody would add a description of the good ending to the Plot section, I would greatly appreciate that! Thanks! Wikikinetic (talk) 05:44, October 7, 2017 (UTC)
