Should this page be labled as "Real World"? Although Santa Claus isn't real, his character is inspired by the real world. So should it be under "Real World" or shouldn't it?

No, because the article is not about a character in the real world. -- Supermorff 20:42, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

What, he isn't real :o?! , Anyways, I don't think he needs a real world label, since 95% of the article is about his appearances in the different fictional Sonic worlds.Sonictoast 20:46, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Im still kinda ticked you had to seperate the info I provided on Father Christmas to this one when I had conveniance in mind. After all Father Christmas and Santa Claus are generally the same character even if the Europeans and Westerns have there own stories on him. Fat red man that delivers presents every christmas.--Mystic Monkey sez 23:16, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Rancho Relaxo, Monkey. Sonic has a different article for every continuity, so why not Santa Claus?Sonictoast 02:51, June 26, 2010 (UTC)

Because theres not really much on both articles, but they are generally based on the same person that why not merge them together? Sure we have seperate articles for Sonic for each of his series but thats because each character have so much information from there own series it's mroe conveniant this way. Father Christmas article was relativly small to begin with but if it should be concentrated as a single series Santa Claus then shouldn't we seperate this article into 2 smaller Santa Claus (Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog) and Santa Claus (Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games)? I believe that both Santa Claus and Father Christmas can share an article because they are generally the same person. It's like starting a Sonic Colors article called "Sonic Colours" because it is the English spelling to it.--Mystic Monkey sez 03:54, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
The Father Christmas article was actually quite long, with a History and a Characteristics section, certainly enough to support an article on its own. I'm surprised you thought that the ideal scenario was having links about a character called "Santa Claus" redirecting to an article called "Father Christmas". The STC character is never called Santa Claus (although he's called "Santa" once), and doesn't wear the same clothes as other versions of Santa Claus, has appeared more often than any other version of the character (I think it's about four or five times, only two of which I've written up), and has magic powers that are clearly defined. There's far more to distinguish him than just the name, but it works as a disambiguation. -- Supermorff 09:15, June 26, 2010 (UTC)
So you think Santa Claus and Father Christmas are really nothing alike? Yeah Father Christmas showed up more times than the Santa Claus's but like them it was around Christmas on StC which lasted quite a few years while the other series had early retirements and such. Sure Father Christmas in StC was his own character but so is the Santa Claus in AoSTH being a seperate version character of the Santa in M&S@tWG. I really dunno why these articles can't merge for conveniances.--Mystic Monkey sez 19:25, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
Having to scroll through a page to find the version of a character you're looking for doesn't seem very convenient to me, especially since the characters have different names so the links are unlikely to be confused. We haven't even needed a parenthetical qualifier.
Besides, on this wiki we split out articles when they can stand on their own. That's just how things are generally done. That's why most of the different Sonics have their own page, but not the Sonics from the Movie or Sonic Adventures (the French comic). If you think you can expand both of the Santa characters' info to be worth separate pages, I'm all for that, but we're not there yet. -- Supermorff 20:10, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

OK, I'll leave it at that. But also because of recent depression so fine.--Mystic Monkey sez 22:20, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
