Tux? I remember his name being Pecky. Where does it say his name is Tux? isn't Tux the Linux Penguin?

The name appears in early series bibles, which can be found here: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=352814. Download the third pdf file, entitled 'Second draft', then check out the 'History' and 'Sonic's Friends' sections. The history section is also copied out on the following page: http://www.saturdaymorningsonic.com/features/continuity/ about halfway down (I suggest you use Ctrl-F to find it). Also, the name Tux appears in the promotional material for the never-made Sonic TV series. We have a screenshot (here) but the resolution is low so you might not be able to tell.

That all said, the penguin may have been given other names in other localities, or later in the development process.

Also, yes, Tux is also the name of the Linux penguin. -- Supermorff 19:32, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
