Here's a thought...[]

Maybe the reason it's called "Eggmobile (Retreat)" is because Doctor Eggman was planning some sort of weapon that would work for Labyrinth Zone, like the one in Sonic CD(Bubble Shield Blaster), but he might've heard Sonic coming up and destroying the Burrobots. He then panicked and accidentially pressed an "Emergency Labyrinth Zone Dam Self-Destruct Button" that broke the holes that were blocked with stones and a "Last Minute Bomb" that kept the water from flowing until Sonic actually came. Because he wasn't prepared(No glass dome on Eggmobile to keep him from drowning), he didn't know what to do, with Sonic racing up, the water rising quickly behind him. Sonic, who made it to the top quickly, raced towards Eggman, who knew he was unprepared. So, Eggman raced up through the Labyrinth tunnel, with Sonic right on his tail. At the top, as he flew away, he knew he had a couple of machines for the zones ahead. You see, it's like he was thinking of something to do for Labyrinth Zone, but couldn't think of it until the last second. That makes sense, right?

Major changes[]

While I was planning to rewrite some of these boss articles and I came now across with this one. There are other articles right here and right there, that mostly refer to this boss or are somewhat related and for some reason are needed to be have own separated articles. I would like to merge one of those two articles to this similar way like I did with Eggmobile (wrecking ball) article. Also why is "Eggmobile (retreat attempt 2)" needed to have separated article, if Kyodai Eggman Robo article pretty much sums up the whole boss fight and all of the boss' phases?

So pretty much I would like to know if the article needs some radical changes to do. Tell here, if something other ideas are on the mind or you like to give own views about this. Otherwise I would be doing merging processes for those separated articles. - MarioSonic (talk) 10:59, July 28, 2013 (UTC)

I agree that Retreat Attempt #2 should be added to Kyodai. However I believe that Eggmobile Sonic 4 should stay separate, because it does not escape like the one in labyrinth zone.  Splash the Otter   C  E  14:00, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

The reason, why would be good idea to merge "Eggmobile Sonic 4" with this article is the way how Flying Eggman article has included same bosses. Keep it mind, Flying Eggman in Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is also different as well, as it has different second phase. This is the same case with "Eggmobile Sonic 4". It would be also easier to find battle from different games to the one article. - MarioSonic (talk) 14:05, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
I don't really understand your last post. My preference is for separate articles for all boss battles. We were doing that for a while, but now apparently we aren't. -- Supermorff (talk) 18:00, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
To clarify this, there are reasons, why I would see to do changes and merging boss articles together:
  • Despite having slight differences on attack patterns, if the boss battle is most of all similar like it was in the first appearance, it might as well be merged with the main article, that tells about it. There's no need to tell about it again in another article to the reader.
  • Merging to the original article can made more easier for readers to navigate certain boss battle, that identically has been seen in multiple games and are listed and expanded on Game Appearances just like other articles do.
  • Also I have to say that, there are only several bosses like these, that are needed to expand all appearances in one article. The reason why Egg Dragoon from Sonic Unleashed and Egg Dragoon from Sonic Generations have separated articles is, because boss fights in those games are drastically different. The same can not be said about these bosses from earlier games. This is also easier to list all appearances of the boss in other media as well at one article.
I just do this because it can make articles of earlier games look more judicious-alike and up to date, because numerous articles from earlier games have been pretty messed up looking and can really need some rewriting. Like I said before, these bosses have appeared many times, but aren't changed that much in each game. Hope you understand. - MarioSonic (talk) 18:48, July 29, 2013 (UTC)
I understand, I just disagree. -- Supermorff (talk) 19:56, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

Move to "Egg Mobile (boss)"[]

Not sure is this is going to get approved, but I'm proposing to move this page to "Egg Mobile (boss)". The reason for this is because it has been the closest to a name we've got as confirmed in the Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia, and because it has been officially designated as such in Sonic Origins. I support this change.Josiahblazesig 20:49, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
I would also want to rename all of the boss articles in these three games to reflect their names in Sonic Origins, like "Mecha Sonic Mk. II". However, I would suggest using "Mark" instead of "Mk." (such as "Egg Scorcher Mark II") to make consistency with the enemies in Sonic Mania, and because "Mk." is an abbreviation of "Mark". It would be like how we prefer using "Doctor" to "Dr." in article titles. DiegoUreta68 (talk) 20:54, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
I approve of this as well. Maybe not the Mark thing, but everything else.Ultrasonic9000 (talk) 21:28, 24 June 2022 (UTC)
I suggested to use "Mark" to make consistency. Perhaps words such as "Jr." and "Mrs." could be the subject of controversy, but this is applying your logic on the use of "Doctor" and "Dr.". DiegoUreta68 (talk) 00:55, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
