demons

i got notice that Iblis is the arabic word for devil, and that Mephiles's name is derived of Mephisto Pheles when you combine it you get the name Mephiles.

Tenticles

Iblis' minions appear in Shadow's story, even though he was still sealed inside Elise. How? Was there a second Iblis, just like people therorize there was a second Mephiles? Or...what?TheLairOfRockwhales 20:51, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

Okay, now listen up people, this is an issue that's been agitating me for a while. You know Iblis creatures? Iblis Golem, Iblis Worm, Iblis Biter, and Iblis Taker? Well, according to this article, the purple versions of these monsters (they look similar, they're just purple) are called purple "Iblis" monsters. So they're still Iblis' minions, just purple... you get the idea.

Now look what I've found. Titan (Sonic '06), Stalker, Mephiles Taker... these are the purple "Iblis" monsters this article claims them to be. According to the other articles, however, as well as Sonic the Hedgehog (2006)/Artwork, they're not Iblis monsters colored purple. They're Mephiles' minions.

Which one is correct? Are they Mephiles monsters, or are they just Iblis monsters dyed a different hue?

I don't think it's ever been confirmed by SEGA who the purple variants belong to. It's such a minor issue, so why should they? Also, it is stated on this article that it is a theory that the purple variants belong to Mephiles. That means it is uncertain whether someone had found a source that said they belonged Mephiles or not. There probably is no source. It's just a theory.

However, I think that the purple variants belong to Iblis for this reason: during Shadow's boss fights with Mephiles, I don't think Mephiles spawns any monsters that even look like the minions. Instead, he spawns clones of himself and creatures that look like they came from Sonic Unleashed. I'm not entirely sure about this though, since it's not like I'm paying attention to what the monsters look like when I'm trying to destroy them.

To be safe, I think we should edit all the pages to say that it is just a theory that the variants belong to Mephiles.

Fair points. However, I'm already in the process of creating the Mephiles Worm page; several pieces of evidence around the wiki suggest that these are Mephiles creatures, and that paragraph was the only thing suggesting they were Iblis creatures. For now, I'm going with the former.

Well, you'd probably know more about it than me. It took me years to finish '06. I finished it like last month after getting it in 2009. It doesn't matter really, since it's never been confirmed. Good luck on your page :)

It's already done :) Didn't need to do much. Though I'm going to have to edit quite a lot of pages (Town Mission and character pages that I created) to conform with my theory that these are Mephiles creatures, as I thought they were Iblis creatures at first.

I had the same problems on the Sonic Fanon Wiki... I created the pages for Homing Attack and Spin Attack and I didn't even bother to put links on more than two pages. Some people came along and added their characters and stuff so it was okay in the end.
