Plot[]
The episode begins with Tails in front of his personal desktop, humming a song to himself, before he lifts himself and his desktop opens to reveal himself and the screen of the computer. Tails proceeds to welcome viewers to Sonic Scoop, his own personal series hosted by himself. He begins to mess with his computer to create Sonic complementing his series, before going on to introduce this episodes' special guest, Amy Rose. Amy and Tails begin to talk about their knowledge on Sonic, with Tails referring to the two as "Sonic experts". Amy begins to recall the adventures the two have been on previously. Tails then begins to explain the TailsTube series as something that introduces new Sonic fans, while reminding hardcore Sonic fans about what makes this series so special. Tails then asks the viewers how they first met Sonic, with Amy going on to explain the original events that made her come across him in the first place; When she was younger, her fortune cards predicted she'd meet Sonic at the Never Lake. Soon after, Sonic arrived to save the day from Dr. Eggman. Tails reminds her that it was how they first encountered Metal Sonic, as well, with Amy then mentioning how Metal Sonic was the one robot who can not only keep up with Sonic, but also keep him on his toes.
Tails then decides that it is time to answer questions from the viewers, and brings one up from a user called "ChaoRtheBest" that read: Where does Mr. Sonic live? Does he ever get homesick traveling the world? Amy answers the question by saying that Sonic does not have a home, and is always traveling the world non-stop, and simply camps out when he needs a break. Tails adds that Sonic has crashed in his lab sometimes, with Amy briefly bringing up how Tails leaves his door open for Sonic and takes care of Sonic's plane for him, and jokes that Tails probably keeps his kitchen stocked for Sonic. Tails answers by reminding her that the chili cans and hot dog packages in the kitchen are not for himself, before going unto the next question, and offering Amy to answer it.
The next question is from a user called "KNUCKLES", which Amy uses to point out that he doesn't have a screenname, but then goes on to read the following: ONE SONIC IS TIRESOME ENOUGH AS IT IS. WHY ARE THERE TWO OF HIM RUNNING AROUND SOMETIMES?? Tails interrupts by claiming he wonders what Knuckles' data speeds are on Angel Island, which annoys Amy and she persuades him to stay focused on the subject. Amy continues by answering the question by bringing up a picture of a younger looking Sonic, which Amy introduces as Classic Sonic, the Sonic from the past. She brings up a picture of the current Sonic and demonstrates the difference between the two by claiming that the current Sonic is the Sonic that he grew up to be. However, Amy is unable to answer why they are together, so she instead requests that Tails does it for her, as Tails has been researching the subject. Tails starts by explaining how they met in the first place: A short while ago, Dr. Eggman and his younger variant from the past used an ancient being known as the Time Eater to mess with space and time. The Sonic from the past and the Sonic from the present teamed-up in order to defeat them. As usual, the two succeeded together, and Sonic's past self was sent back to his original time period through a dimensional portal. Tails reacts by joking that Sonic makes time-travel look easy.
The next question is from "KNUCKLES" again, which Tails proceeds to read out his question: I MEAN, WHY ISN'T ANYONE FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS. MULTIPLE SONICS?! IF THERE ARE TWO OF THEM THEN COULD THERE BE EVEN MORE?! Amy answers by reminding Tails that Classic Sonic only appeared because of Eggman messing with the time-stream, and claims that there should only be that one. Tails answers Amy by claiming that is not necessarily true, as time is simply only one dimension of reality. He mentions that within the endless possibilities of space and time, there could be infinite more Sonics. Amy is surprised and starts to wonder what they would be like. Tails claims that anything is possible, giving the examples of that there could be Big Sonics, little Sonics, a Sonic with four arms, a Sonic with blue arms, or even a Sonic in a rock band with a monkey on bass, and a rabbit drummer. Amy interrupts him by mentioning that they went off the rails with that question. Tails mentions he had more than that, but Amy continues to wrap the episode up by saying it doesn't matter what he looks like, or where he's from, he is still guaranteed to be awesome. Tails applauds Amy's take on it, but then hears a knock on the door from a muffled voice, asking if he has anything to eat as the voice is starving. Tails claims that speaking of the Blue Devil, it is time that they wrap this up now. Tails thanks Amy for being on the show, with Amy thanking Tails back for including her, and then says his farewells to the viewers, claiming that he'll see them next time on more Sonic Scoop.
Trivia[]
- Before Tails introduces the episode, he is humming the chorus of Believe In Myself, specifically the Sonic Adventure 2 version of the song.[4]
- On Tails' desktop, one of his folders are titled "Lego Ideas", possibly referencing the Sonic the Hedgehog set released by Lego Ideas.
- Tails' pictures of alternate Sonics all appear to be references to different aspects of the franchise:
- The Sonic with light blue fur, a curly strand of hair, and a pair of antennae resembles Sonic crossed with Yacker.
- The Sonic with blue arms and sports tape wrapped around his arms, hands, legs, and shoes is a reference to Sonic’s Sonic Boom counterpart.
- The Sonic with purple fur has a mustache identical to Doctor Eggman's.
- The Sonic with blue arms is a reference to Sonic's counterpart from the Sonic Boom series and his counterpart from the Paramount film series.
- The Sonic who is in a rock band with a bass-playing monkey and a drum-playing rabbit is a reference to the scrapped Sonic the Hedgehog Band concept that would later be the inspiration for the cartoon Sonic Underground.
- During the episode, a NiGHTS Chao can be seen for a split second, flying behind Amy.
- According to Amy, she came up with the nickname "Classic Sonic" for the titular character's past-self.
- During the end of the episode, Tails refers to Sonic as the "Blue Devil", a nickname given to him by Crazy Carl in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series.
