"TailsTube #3 (feat. Knuckles)" is the third episode of the TailsTube online web series. It first aired on 22 September 2022 on the Sonic the Hedgehog series' official social medias. The episode serves as a mini-prequel to Sonic Frontiers.

Plot[]
The episode starts with Tails introducing himself to the viewers, announcing that he has got a guest they have been asking for: Knuckles the Echidna. While the echidna is struggling to turn his Video Communicator on, the fox is glad that it has arrived safely on Angel Island. Afterwards, Knuckles asks his friend why he has called him, concerned that he might need some help. Tails, however, says that it is "nothing too serious", hoping to see the echidna hang out for a bit, and tells him that he is hosting "The Sonic Scoop", where they talk all about Sonic. Knuckles, though, does not reciprocate, being reluctant to talk about the hedgehog, and attempting to turn the Communicator off. Anyhow, the fox convinces him to stay and talk about himself.
Knuckles starts by describing himself as a "very simple guy", and the last in a line of ancient guardians, devoted to watching over the Master Emerald, which is a gemstone of immeasurable power and the only force in the universe that is capable of neutralizing the energy of the Chaos Emeralds. He further adds that the giant Emerald keeps Angel Island floating high in the sky, hidden away in the clouds. The echidna also says that the island is the safest place to keep the Master Emerald away from fiends who would try to steal it, like Eggman, robotic abominations, and Rouge; none of whom being worthy of having it in their possession. Tails then asks him what would happen if he went to Angel Island to run a few tests on the jewel, to which Knuckles sarcastically says that he would be glad that his friend could fly, as he would be thrown away from the island. The fox further asks if the echidna is curious about seeing what else the Emerald can do, as he has such a special relationship with it, and mentioning that Sonic can use the Chaos Emeralds to turn into Super Sonic. Knuckles interrupts him, attesting that it is not his place to use the Master Emerald's power; his job is to protect it. Tails then sarcastically asks his friend where his sense of adventure is, causing him to say that fox has been hanging out with Sonic for so long that he has begun to sound like him.
Sonic suddenly makes his entrance as soon as Knuckles mentions him, which annoys the echidna. After some banter, the hedgehog tells his friend to leave "that stuffy 'ol' island for a while". An even more displeased Knuckles says that he does leave Angel Island a lot to help when Sonic and his friends cannot save the world on their own, which the hedgehog admits that is true. He also adds that his island is not "stuffy", but a paradise with diverse environments and innumerable secrets yet to uncover, such as a "special new rock" he has "just found", which he smashes against the Communicator in fury, breaking it down.
After Knuckles destroys his Communicator, Sonic sarcastically says that any rock could do the same as Knuckles' and apologizes to Tails for interrupting his meeting with the echidna. The fox takes the opportunity to notify his friend that he has been doing some research on the Chaos Emeralds, their signals leading his tracker to somewhere strange: some new islands he has never seen before. Tails asks Sonic if he would like to go investigate with him. The latter immediately accepts, while emphasizing it a second time by putting on some sunglasses. The fox tells his audience that he will see them again in another episode of the Sonic Scoop. As he and the hedgehog leave, he asks him if they should invite Amy as well. Sonic accepts, saying that "the more, the merrier".

- The video of Tails dancing could be a reference to the scene in Spider-Man 3 where Peter Parker, played by Tobey Maguire, dances in front of a clothing store, in the streets, after exiting it. The scene itself, having become so iconic, became a popular meme on the Internet known as "Bully Maguire".
