A translation of the story prologue from the Japanese manual:
- Everyone has times where they want to travel alone...
- One day, Tails whirls his two tails, which he was proud of, and sets off in a journey.
- It's not that he quarrelled with Sonic.
- He has no destination, just a little adventure that is different from the usual.
- Tails flies aimlessly in the blue sky with the sun shining brightly.
- He flies as far and as fast as he pleases.
- After a while, Tails finally finds the stage for his adventure.
- A small lone island found in the middle of the deep blue sea underneath the floating clouds.
- "It would be nice if there is something interesting here..."
- Tails thinks as he descendes to the island.
- The island looks like an ordinary little island that could be seen anywhere.
- However, upon landing on the island, Tails discovers that it is no ordinary island.
- Steel rails stretched all over the island.
- And there are no signs of Animals living on the island.
- "What kind of rails are these? I don't think it is Dr. Eggman..."
- As he thinks about this, he feels vibrations on the rails under his feet.
- Sensing danger, Tails jumps into a nearby bush.
- What Tails sees is a single shadow coming along the rails.
- It is a trolley that is shining silver.
- And there's a suspecious human figure on the trolley...
- "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!
- Everything on this island belongs to me, the great witch Witchcart!
- I'll turn anyone who opposes me into crystals!
- Now, my little minions, patrol! Don't miss a single person who defies me!!
- Ha ha ha ha ha... Now get going!!"
- After the witch, the minions take off on flying machines.
- Tails, who had been watching everything from the grass, had already made up his mind.
- "I have to do something... Yes, I can do it!!
- Even without Sonic, I'm fine all alone!"
- And Tails rotated his two tails and took off!!
- He took off to the stage of a great adventure to protect this unknown island...
