The Sweet Roll is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Sweet Roll's icon takes the form of the strawberry pastry (with strawberry on it) roll down the track, leaving pinky trail with sparkles in its wake.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Sweet Roll can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Dulce Amy . As with most other Items, Metal Sonic and Metal Sonic Mach 3.0 can also use the Sweet Roll if they use the Steal Item, or Fortune Teller Amy if she uses Lucky Draw or Wall of Cards to steal it from the aforementioned user.
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Sweet Roll by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the user sets loose three pastries simultaneously on three different lanes: the lane the user is on and the those adjacent to it. These waves will then travel down the lanes they were deployed on in front of the user until they hit either a rival character, Badnik or obstacle, or they wear off. These pastries are treated separately, so if the Sweet Roll on one lane disappears, the others will continue their trajectory. Rival characters that make contact with the Sweet Roll will take damage, causing them to lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Sweet Roll, the playable character has to either step out of its lane or jump over it.
The Sweet Roll can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 6 and 12 respectively. For each upgrade, the Sweet Roll will deal more damage.
