The Super Form's icon takes the form of the seven Chaos Emeralds surrounded by a sparkling Gold Ring. In gameplay, this power-up becomes the seven Chaos Emeralds entering the user's body, thus turning him into his Super State.
When obtained, the player will not be able to utilize the Super Form unless they have at least eighty Rings in their possession. The power-up's unavailability is displayed by the icon for Super Form on the bottom of the HUD being gray. As the player collects more Rings however, the Super Form's icon will gradually be colored from the bottom up. The number of available and required Rings is shown above this power-up's icon.
Once the Super Form becomes usable, its icon will pulsate and have electricity surging through it. The player can then utilize it by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Super Form will make Sonic/Movie Sonic/Shadow/Silver/Classic Sonic stop up for a moment before making him initiate a super transformation and making him boost down the track for a short amount of time. In addition, the Super Form allows Super Sonic/Movie Super Sonic/Super Shadow/Super Silver/Super Classic Sonic to pass through obstacles and rivals' offensive power-up without them affecting him. The duration of the Super Form is indicated by the Ring counter in the upper right corner of the screen. Notably, the Super Form will drain the player's Ring count while in use. Should the character's Ring count hit zero, or duration limit reached, the Super Form automatically ends and the super transformed player will return to normal.
The Super Form can also be upgraded by leveling Super Sonic/Movie Super Sonic/Super Shadow/Super Silver/Super Classic Sonic up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. At level 2 the duration is increased, while at level 8 and 14 the Super Form's speed is increased.
The Super Form's initial reliance on fifty Rings for activation is a reference to how the super transformation in various Sonic games either require fifty Rings to be activated in regular levels after being unlocked or the users of the super transformation beginning a battle with fifty Rings in their possession.
However, as of the version 4.2.0 update, eighty Rings are required to use this power-up.
The Super Form's duration being tied to the player's Ring count is a reference to how the super transformation drains the player of Rings to stay active in gameplay.
