Summer Falls Zone[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a summer-inspired Zone that is located on Earth.
Concept and creation[]
Summer Falls Zone is named after one of the four seasons, with this Zone using the summer season as its inspiration.
Description[]
Summer Falls Zone takes place in a brightly illuminated, slightly grassy valley, filled with an abundance of multi-step waterfalls that produce so much steam that it masquerades any land below, no matter how steep the land below is. The beige-colored walls have elongated hexagonal-shaped carvings that form a consistent pattern across the zone. Caverns with stalagmites and stalactites are hidden within the Zone. Though there are some clouds scattered across the sky, Summer Falls Zone has natural blue skies, fitting for the summer-themed location.[1]

Seasons of Chaos[]
Sonic finds a Chaos Emerald inside a hidden cave in Summer Falls Zone, from Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Special.
On their quest to find the Chaos Emeralds before Dr. Eggman, Sonic, Tails and Knuckles made their way from Spring Valley Zone and embarked through Summer Falls Zone. They eventually found the yellow Chaos Emerald inside a cavern slightly covered by a pair of waterfalls. However, Fang, Bean and Bark cornered the heroes, claiming they were after the Emerald as well per the request of Eggman. The heroes and hooligans brawled for the Emerald, as Bark and Knuckles started fist-fighting, Sonic dodging Bean's bombs, and Tails messing up Fang's Marvelous Queen to delay him from reaching the Emerald. Tails also managed to take the Emerald before Fang fired his popgun at the two-tailed fox, which caused the Emerald to be flung around before it eventually fell off a cliff and into the steamy waterfall pit below. Fang and his gang subsequently took off to find more Emeralds nearby. Meanwhile, Sonic and his friends realized that trekking down the waterfall pit for the Emerald was a lost cause. As such, they decided to chase after the mercenaries to Autumn Forest Zone before they found another Emerald.[1]
Down below where the fight just occurred, the Chaos Emerald dropped down on top of Mighty's head, with Amy and Ray celebrating their new find. The Emerald Radar that Amy had then detected another Chaos Emerald nearby through a cavern below. Amy and her new friends thus continued their journey, unaware that Tails Doll continued to stalk them.[1]
