The Sugar Rush is an Item Box power-up that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series
Description [ ] The Sugar Rush's icon takes form of the strawberry donut with some colorful sprinkles in it. In gameplay, the user will provides the speed, leaving yellow trail in their wake, and some donuts down the track while the Sugar Rush is on progress.
Overview [ ] In gameplay, the Sugar Rush can only be obtained at random from Item Boxes by Dulce Amy .
Once obtained, the player can utilize the Sugar Rush by pressing its icon on the bottom of the HUD. When used, the Sugar Rush will increase the speed of the user for a short amount of time. The duration of the Sugar Rush is shown by the decreasing gauge on top of this power-up's icon on the bottom of the HUD whenever the Sugar Rush is in effect. In addition, while the Sugar Rush actives, the user will leave donuts behind, which is in directly lane the user currently on. If the rival characters collides one of these donuts, they will take damage, causing them lose Rings and slow down momentarily. To avoid the Sugar Rush's donuts, the character must step out its lane or jump over them.
The Sugar Rush can also be upgraded by leveling the user up to level 2, 8 and 14 respectively. For each upgrade, the Sugar Rush will last longer.
