Hefty shoes made of steel. The spikes on the soles make them even more devastating.

— Description, Sonic Unleashed[1]

The Stomping Shoes (ストンピングシューズ Sutonpingushūzu?) are a Level Up Item for Sonic the Hedgehog in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed and the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations.

Description[]

In Sonic Unleashed, the Stomping Shoes are a pair of heavy steel shoes that resemble Sonic's shoes, but have spikes on the soles. In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations, however, the Stomping Shoes are identical to Sonic's shoes. With the Stomping Shoes, Sonic can perform the Stomp, which allows him to slam directly downwards in the middle of a jump.

Location[]

Sonic Unleashed[]

In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version of Sonic Unleashed, the Stomping Shoes can be found in Holoska's Entrance Stage, the hub of Holoska's Action Stages (in the Wii/PlayStation 2 version, Sonic already has all the Level Up Items at the start of the game). Upon entering the Entrance Stage, the Stomping Shoes can be found on the other side of the lake, which must be crossed with a Sonic Boost in order to avoid falling into the water and drowning.

Sonic Generations[]

In the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, Modern Sonic already knows how to use the Stomp move. However, in the Nintendo 3DS version of the game, Tails gives him the Stomping Shoes after clearing the Biolizard boss fight. Tails says that the shoes are lighter instead of heavier, as described in Sonic Unleashed.
