Steve Conte is an American musician, songwriter, guitarist, music producer, and lead singer of the band Steve Conte NYC, who has done work for the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
History[]
Conte is known for working with composer Yoko Kanno on a variety of anime soundtracks, as well as for being the former lead guitarist of the New York Dolls.
Conte was brought on for Sonic and the Secret Rings when composer Kenichi Tokoi was looking for a singer for the soundtrack. They were introduced through bassist Will Lee. Already famous for his work on anime and with the New York Dolls, Steve Conte fit Tokoi's vision of an expressive singer, and so his vocals were used for both the main theme and closing credits song of the game.[1]
